Halo kit

They are oracle halo kits. The kits have 6 rings and 4 ballasts. It cost twice as normal of other kits. It would cost $199 if we can get ten to buy. Here are the pics of how it would look. You can also send in your headlight in for them to get it done and have lifetime warrenty

looks good but dont want to deal with opening the headlights. I done it once and all I can say is, its pain in the ass. Its a lot harder than you think it is..Yes, I could send it to them but thats what? $350 plus tax? not worth it.

Mmmm......me likey lots.
Adds a certain air of sophistication to the car I think.
But, what's the life expectancy and how are they wired in? Separate switch (ugly) or off the sidelight position (much nicer)?
Of course, if the latter, then you'd lose the imagery portrayed above.

From their website:
50K hours if left on permanently - now this is a bit misleading. Are they saying 50K 'til failure running 24/7 but less due to switch on transients? Is there a soft start mechanism to reduce blowing early (assuming transients are present and do increase wear and tear)?
Cold Cathode Fluorescent - just like the ones you'd stuff inside your PC, if you're that type.

Plenty of different images here - http://www.advancedautomotiveconcepts.com - in the gallery section.

Yes, but has to be wired into something, otherwise it'd be on 24/7 and draining the battery. So, sounds like the ignition is involved if the DLR operation is to be on.
Maybe I'll ask them so I can share and see if I'm still interested.

I'll speak with them by email over the weekend, so as soon as I have answers to my queries above, I'll let you all know.
Meanwhile, if anyone calls and speaks to them then if you get the answers, post the replies.

I installed Angel Eyes from Umnitza.
Installation is not difficult, however it is very very tedious. If you crack a ring, which is very easy to do, you must buy a new one. I cracked my rings 5 times when trying to install. The wiring was quite simple, and I wired mine so that when my brake lights are on, the halos come on as well. It was the first modifcation I had ever done, and I had never done any sort of electrical wiring before...so you can do it as well.
I will most likely buy a set of these, and pay for them to be installed by the guy...I plan on getting a new set of 2006 JDMs so ill do that.

Here are some pics of my rings from Umnitza...

I just read a little about the halos this guy is offering and they sound quite appealing. No drilling and no glue...im intrigued!! Maybe I can install these easier myself and not have to pay an extra $150...

"plug and play" setup connects to the parking lights so that you can turn the halos on and off from your stock headlight switch when the headlights are on or off.

Once it's finalized, please contact the site admin to make the proper arrangement for the group buy and post it in the "Group buy" forum.

Must be just you then. I don't think this is a case of wannabe, but more a nod to what BMW, which looks different.
Nothing ricey about it - if anything, it's sophisticated, which by definition precludes it from being ricey.
Ricers don't do sophistication!

When I first saw these (the Umnitza kit, earlier ones) I was all about getting them done. Some careful consideration of pros + cons, price, possible negative affects to headlights, and reliability made me choose no. I'm not going to call it and dismiss it, but these aren't for everyone, respect that opinion too. Personally, I think its a lot of work and cost for minimal bling factor, and yes, people install these because BMW started a trend. I bought an Ac, not a bimmer, for a reason.

I bought an Acura and not a BMW for a reason too...but that reason had nothing to do with the fact that BMW has angel eyes and the Acura doesnt lol...

You can install them yourself...it is not difficult, and it always fun and more satisfying when you have a finished product that you installed on your own.

You do know that halo lights are after market options on 3 series right?
