To get a spoiler or not?

Hi guys, wondering if anybody can help me decide whether to go with the spoiler or not on the 2005 TSX, black pearl colour and black leather interior.

any insight would be helpful.

thanks,

Don't be a cheap bastard. Do yourself a favor and get the spoiler. You will regret it later if you don't. And you are already spending a lot of $$$ for the car. You might as well cough up the few extra bucks.

JUST DO IT!!

This was discussed at nauseum...

FYI, I do have the OEM spoiler and I like it.

I've been trying to decide this too...

IMO, the OEM spoiler looks great when I see the car moving on the street. Especially from behind.

...on the other hand whenever I see the OEM spoiler in pictures, there seems to be certain angles that it doesn't look so great at. I guess you have to pick which one you care about more.

I've been considering the lip spoiler lately. Only thing is, it can't really be seen from a distance.

don't get the OEM spoiler... looks wack, screws up the lines of an amazing car.

If you are gonna get a spoiler go with the M3 lip style.

OEM = original equipment manufacturer...in this case, Acura/Honda or a 3rd party that provides parts directly to Acura/Honda.

I'm not a big fan of the OEM spoiler --- I personally don't think it goes with the lines of the car, but that's just my opinion. I do like the M-style lips that are floating around on Ebay, particularly the one from sabresport. It really just comes down to whether or not YOU like it. The spoiler on the TSX is all cosmetic... you're not gaining any performance advantage by installing one, so if you like the way it looks, go for it! After all... are you trying to please yourself, or everyone on this board?

I would agree, eventhough I have the OEM. Here is the big difference, if you go OEM, you're stuck with it. They drill holes for installation. If you go M3 style, its adhered, so you can change it up later. After that, its all what you like the looks of. I've been told many times that by ppl they didn't think the OEM looked good until they saw it in person. The sense I got was, they still like not having it, but that the OEM didn't look as bad as they thought it might. Either way, I like having it.

I have the OEM spoiler and I think it looks superb. The TSX' that don't have them look good, but the back end looks somewhat boring unless they have an M3 spoiler. Get the OEM one... you won't regret it.

ive got the spoiler on my ssm
i got a friend who has a black with the OEM spoiler, it really looks awesome, especially from the back

IMO, the spoiler looks like it enhances the lines of the TSX rather than f'ing it up

After looking at some more pics, I think the OEM spoiler looks pretty good with the OEM bodykit and the car dumped to the flo.

I got the OEM spoiler, and I could almost go either way-- the car looks good with it or without it. I think I need to get the underbody spoiler kit to finish it off tho. I think it depends on how "sporty" of a look you're going for. If you want a more understated, "mature" look, I'd stick with stock or the m3-style lip. Me, I think it doesn't hurt to put a little more pizazz into the 4-door sedan.

If anyone is considering the M3 lip spoiler, there are 2 type available on Ebay... one is unpainted from sabresport, and the other is painted by xenonspecialist. They're slightly different. I was able to see them both in person and pick the one I preferred (thanks OhNoItsMe), but they both look pretty good IMO. The sabresport is tapered off at the ends, slopes up a tad bit more, and is a little bit more rounded off at its peak. It's made out of a hard, dense material. The xenonspecialist sits flush with both ends of the trunk, and is made of a flexible material (somewhat rubberized?).

...Just wanted to point that out for any of you blokes that are looking to add that to your mod list...

It looks good with the oem kit but out of place without it. I'd hold off until your're sure. You can always add it later but you can't remove it.

Dont do it man!!! I have the OEM kit on a SSM with no spoiler and I love the looks of it!!!!! Its so nice and clean w/o the stock spoiler. I do like the lines of the M3 spoiler so thats probably the only one I would go with. A friend of mine at work has the stock OEM spoiler on their TSX and it looks funky.
