Question Fram Suredrain?

I was at a local Canadian Tire couple of days ago and noticed they stock the Fram suredrain. I was thinking this would be a convenient little product for the TSX since the bottom plastic piece sorta get in the way when you are trying to change the engine oil.

My question is:

1) Can anyone confirm the part number? Fram doesn't have it listed for the TSX, but i remember someone on this board listing it as SD-2.
2) Any long-term issues that i should be worry about? Would the washer that comes with the bolt fail after a certain number of year? I assume the washer is used in place of the existing one.

I use a suredrain. The part # is the same one as the Accord.

It works as advertised; the washer doesn't need replacement since you are only crushing it once.

I put the Sure Drain on at my last oil change. So will use it for the first time soon. The part # is SD2. I agree, it will help drain the oil past the pastic underbody. Plus make draining easier and cleaner.

I've drained once since installing the SureDrain. The angle of the bolt combined with the frame that surrounds that plastic cover that you have to remove to get to the bolt makes it kind of a pain to screw the drain tube on. Also, the pain and mess made by removing the oil filter makes me sort of wonder how much easier this really makes the job overall. Though it does save me from mashing my knuckles on something hard and metallic when the bolt finally breaks free, and I presumably remove the possibility of stripping the threads, so that's good.

I had one on my old accord, it's more of a PITA, and not all of the oil drained out of it with that nipple in it

There's another recent thread where people have noticed that their Fram Suredrain starts leaking after a few changes. Additionally, someone else mentioned they have been recalled b/c of this leaking issue. Not sure if the recall part has been confirmed.

I just put the Suredrain on my car. In all honesty, it doesn't seem to make any significant difference in terms of simplifying an oil change. I plan to get rid of mine at the next oil change.

You can relocate the oil filter.
