Throttle blips might have given us a better demo, but it does sound really quiet at higher RPM's.

I still think the Comptech has the best sound.

I can't tell if it's flowing better than before, because I had the Tanabe SMH before the MT. However, I did replace the cat as well, so expect to see a dyno in the near future.

When you were holding at 2000 and 3000 rpm, I hear more engine than exhaust. I can definitely hear the exhaust when you let off the gas. I kinda like it this way.

I was going to do some WOT runs but the camera ran out of juice. I'll try again later once the batteries are charged up.

That is not just a tip, it is welded to the exhaust, so you can't take it off unless you plan to buy the entire exhaust and cut it off.

am i reading correctly that you have roughly 9000 miles on your car? sounds great by the way. seems like it is not loud at all, and that your intake is louder.

10K miles??? How long have you had your car? Its not a daily driver? I got my car in Jan 04 and I just hit 30K today.

JTso, what is that program on your PDA that you're using to time the 0-60? And how accurate is it?

From 0-60, did you shift at 3K rpm or redline first gear?

I bought it around 8/03 and It's not a daily driver. It's more of a project car. Oops, I guess I only have 9.3K instead of 10K.

It's an OBD2 scan tool device and software running on the PDA. It's as accurate as the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) as it taps to the diagnostics port and reads off the same data as the ECU. You will notice the final display number matches the speedo.

Ah...I see...

So you're getting a 6.3 sec 0-60 time? That's pretty impressive.

I'm happy with the result, especially with the relatively mild launch.

Music to my ears. I used to have an overly loud exhaust on my last car but adored the deep tone. This brings me back but doesn't seem overpowering at all.

Is there a particluar reason for changing from the SMH to the MT? Was it too loud for you or boomy at a particular frequency?

I've been thinking about these exhausts for my Accord Euro. The MT is now more expensive than the SMH and you seem to say that there isn't a lot of difference between them -- so I was just curious about the reason for the change of if you'd recommend one over the other.

(I'm not after an overly loud exhaust -- I've been thinking otherwise about the Fujitsubo -- I'd like to hear, but not be drowned out by it...)

Not much difference during idle and cruising. The SMH is slightly louder under load at lower speed like coasting up a hill and during WOT. If you want a quieter exhaust, then the MT might be a better fit at a higher price tag.

No particular reason to change other than wanting to try new components. The car has under 9.5k miles and I have already tested 5 cat converters, 2 header A-pipes, 2 intake filters, 2 sets of catbacks, 2 swaybars, 3 sets of tires, 2 sets of wheels, 2 brands of camber kits, and 3 sets of suspensions.
