Euro-R Black trim install

So I decided to get the Euro-R black trim pieces around the doors to replace our OEM chrome look. I got most of the parts, b/c the company i ordered from forgot to send me the straight pieces that go along the bottom of the window. I installed what I got anyways.

These are the parts I received.

This is the piece for the rear doors

The rear piece has 2 holes for screws...

The front piece

Now to install,
1) to take the OEM chrome pieces off, I suggest peeling back the rubber sealing first to get a better look.

2) then simply pull back the chrome pieces that are held by clips at eadh end, and simple adhesive inbetween.

3) the Back pieces first, it is simply held on by the two scress held at one end as shown below, and a snap in clip at the other. In between is just an adhesive that you peep off.

4)The Front is a lot easier b/c their is only one clip at the one end I am pointing to below, and the rest is held on by adhesive.

Finished product:

I think it looks good....although I'm with virus7, I haven't decided if they look better. In my opinion, the stock trim doesn't look bad and I don't think I would pay the additional money to have it changed. Much rather have the money go to other mods.

once again looks good

Haha, yeah I do really like the new look. But like I said in the other thread, in retrospect I don't think I'd spend that much money on this. But I had just gotten a fat tax refund check and I had always thought the chrome was too much, so I just went ahead and made an impulse buy.

It was $350 btw. And yeah I'll make it to the VA/DC/MD meet.
I'll take better pics this week of the trim.

I go them from poleposition, sorry i mentioned this in another thread but I guess not this one. They are located in Canada.

For the most part they were easy to deal with, but i just found out that they only correspond via e-mail b/c this is a side business for them. This was really frustrating b/c like I said, they didn't send the bottom straight pieces and I wanted to call and bitch about it but couldn't. Anyways, they agreed to compensate by refunding $25 but its still gonna take another 4-6 weeks to get the pieces shipped from Japan.

Any of the shops that carry JDM parts should be able to get the parts though. And yes the old pieces went to the trash.

I emailed PPP for some pricing and told them about the price on this post, and they told me the price now will be $524USD shipped. They said the reason for the price increase was because they made a MISTAKE before and didn't include the price of the 4 bottom pieces. So $325USD was just the price on the top 4 pieces.

Anyways, whoever ordered already, they will still do the same price of $325USD, because it was their mistake. Those lucky ppl, you saved over $200USD on it !! However, in the future, it will be $524USD shipped for all 8 pieces.

Well, I don't think there is any way they will sell it for $325 again, since what they told me was that they made a BIG MISTAKE when quoting the price before. (They forgot to add in the cost of the bottom 4 pieces into the total cost.) So the price nader-tsx paid was the price of the top 4 pieces only and he got the bottom 4 pieces for FREE because of the mistake.

So the acutal lowest price they gave me on all 8 pieces was $524 shipped. I would consider that a not bad deal if 4 pieces cost $325, I would think all 8 pieces would cost somewhere around $600-650.

But either way, it is too much $$ for a few trims. I think I will look into Plan B, that is to take out the chrome trim, sand it down and paint it myself. Since it is only a regular black color, I think I can do it myself.

Well my chrome trim pieces got all bent up when I was taking them off so they are useless now. It will be pretty hard to take them off without bending them, but perhaps if you were really careful you could take them off with minimum bending.

Wow, I didn't know they misquoted me on the price. I guess I feel like I got a deal now. I wonder if you can order JDM parts from US honda dealers. I'm sure if it could be done someone would have done it a long time ago, but I don't see why the US dealers couldn't request JDM pieces. Any insight from anyone on this?

I think all you need is the part numbers for the JDM parts, and Honda/Acura SHOULD be able to order it. They get stuff shipped from Japan all the time, but then again, USDM cars have different part numbers for the same part......you mind posting the part numbers of the trim pieces Nader?......I'll see if I could get em from the dealership.

sorry its been awhile, no excuses other than i've been lazy.
But here are the part numbers:

72465-SEA-J01
72425-SEA-J01
72461-SEA-J01

sorry I seem to have thrown out the wrapper with the 4th number, but I would guess 72421-SEA-J01 just from the pattern for the other three.

if any of you guys wanna ask the acura dealer if they could directly order these parts that would be cool. Other than that, I'm just waiting for the pieces that were not sent, and will post pics when they come in.

As far as I know you cant get JDM from American dealers. I work at body shop and we frequently do business with a local area dealer. I tried to have them get me the Euro-r kit,(b/c of our 35% discount) but to no avail. Would have been sweet though.

Oh not at all, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But like I said, even before I knew of the Euro-R black trim I thought the chrome around the doors was a little too much. But yeah, I don't think its ass to have your opinion. I don't like bronze volks so I guess we even steven...jp the volks look good on the white tsx.

cool man. i'm glad that you took my comment in a positive way.

i just dont want to be misunderstood.

i think the chrome on the front grill is excessive tho, that's why i changed mine.

and my volks aren't bronze. they are gold.

gold =
bronze =
