does a front strut do anything? also icebox question

i'm thinking about getting a comptech rear sway and icebox.

now some people a front strut brace too. wouldnt that cause more understeer and sort of counteract the rear sway?

also what kind of filter does the icebox use? just the normal one? if not, can you use normal filters in it, or do you have to buy specially made filters?

front struts do not cuase or remove understeer, only sway bars do. struts only increase the rigidity of the car, and usually make it feel more stable or more responsive. IMO the CompTech front strut is too expensive for its effect, while the Neuspeed is <$100 and Cusco is <$200 and have the same impact as the CT

The Icebox comes with its own filter. You can use the stock filter also, or you can buy the K&N filter. I've had fitment issues with the Icebox airbox. I have not been able to get my airbox to tightly seal around the stock filter or the K&N filter so I'm running the stock airbox until I rig some kind of a seal for the Icebox airbox.

i am definitely getting the rear sway. would you guys recommend the strut (as in is it that big of a difference rigidity wise)? (its sort of expensive since its what $200, compared to the sway which i've read accomplishes much more and is only a little over $100 for a comptech).

i have been reading howstuffworks.com to really figure exactly how the suspension parts all work (physics wise anyway), but i also do appreciate the answers here.

The car seems to have a factory front strut brace. Well, what's wrong with it? I am surprised that there is a noticeable difference.

the front is pretty dinky compared to the CT, and all the other aftermarket ones are in addition to the stock one. Just because the TSX comes w/ a RSB as well doesn't mean its a good one

that is a fine combo, I had that setup last year (now I have a Progress RSB and Spoon Front strut)

Too bad that they went to the effort of front strut brace and not doing a good enough job of it. Should this be done after other mods (due to it having less of an effect)?

Do the rear sway bar first if you haven't done that.

I added the Comptech front strut bar and I like it, it makes the steering a little sharper and turn in is much sharper. The fit and finish and quality of the Comptech bar can't be beat also which is the main reason I went with it over other ones.
