Hello. My name is Josh and I am the owner of Excelerate. I noticed that Triz08 seems to be bad mouthing me so I would like to clear some things up. Here is a copy of the PM he sent me:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok sounds good. Should i send my info over a PM on here, or will you need to fill out in invoice or something over email. Get back to me soon, It would be great timing if i could get this header by wednesday of next week, hitting up the tracks on thursday. So please get back to me asap. Thanks alot
Mike

The header arrived Wednesday as I said it would and when he said he wanted it. I did ask my supplier if he had the newer version of the DC header with the new welds and he said that he had bought them only a couple months earlier and that they should be the newer ones. And I told Triz08 that they should be the new ones; I told him what I knew based on the information given to me. Also, the black marks seem to be common as everyone else has posted that they have them too.
I will be doing a GB on these headers hopefully shortly and I will have the newer ones be sent to me direct from AEM/DC Sports. If you have any questions please PM me. Ask any of the CL/TL guys about my reputation or look in the Black Market and you will I have all positive feedback.

Now after going to meineke to get the weld redone, one of the studs on the cat got fucking stripped so now i cant get one nut on. The stud doesnt seem to be removeable from the cat so im in a shit load of trouble now. It was the very last nut i had to put on and my whole car would be perfect to drive. Triz who wishes he never even ordered this header.
any ideas

Sorry to hear that man....
So the threads on the bolt coming off of the cat is stripped?
You could also just get a high flow cat too. That was going to be my backup plan if I had any trouble with the bolts around that area.

If the damage is at the tip of the stud, then all you need is to repair the thread on the stud and reuse the same nut. Sometimes you can even repair it using a small file and file along the thread patten. Another option is simply cut the tip of the stud off and hope it has enough thread left to reinstall the nut.

Triz, which of the bolts is it?
Like JTso says, is it just the tip of the stud that's damaged?
Can you just cut the tip off or file down the tip, just so you can get the nut on?

it was the bottom one in the pic you have there tsx536, basically the most essential one. I ended up taking my car back to meineke a 2nd time and they used a torch and knocked out the stud in the cat that was stripped and put a new bolt in there costed 20 bucks. Finally everything is good and back together.
Jtso, i did not put anti-seeze on the threads and now that i think of it that is most likely what caused it. I did alot of driving last night so im sure it got heated up/cooldowned a few times which prolly caused the threads to seeze.
Im just glad everything is finished (Sigh of releif). I appreciate all the help you guys gave.
And about Excelerate... Nothing he did was really wrong, the first time i spoke with him i did say by wednesday, but then plans changed for me and i was going to the track wednesday. I just really thought i would have got the header monday if he sent it thursday, so that just got me in a negative mindset, after waiting monday and tuesday unpatienently for it to arrive. About the weld, he did not assure me it was updated, but its more his suppliers fault for telling him its only a couple months old.

Excelerate did say that he would have the header in the mail thursday, right after i sent him a direct payment wednesday night through paypal. Later on i found out the header wasnt shipped until Monday. So i may forgive you for the rest of the things i said, but if you tell me you will ship on that day, and you dont, what do you want me to think?

$20 ain't bad Triz. I thought it would cost a lot more than that. At least everything is done now and you can enjoy the headers. Congrats man.
I've been enjoying mine! The ride is even more smooth now and just like you said in an earlier post, it doesn't feel like the engine is trying to force more air through than it can handle anymore.
Right now I'm trying to test a little bit to see if the headers are effecting my gas mileage, so I haven't been pushing it super duper hard. I've still been pushing it pretty hard but not all out like I did on the first tank right after I installed the headers.

Gas Mileage after the DC Header Install
This week, I've been testing to see how the headers have effected my gas mileage. I'm happy to say, that I was able to get the same gas mileage as I did before the header install.
After getting Hondata, I managed to get about 26.5 mpg doing about 65% Freeway 35% city. When I filled up today, I calculated that I got 26.2 mpg. I was driving the car pretty hard on this tank of gas though, so I would say that the mpg is close to the same. I did a lot of redlining and shifts in Vtec, so 26.2 is actually pretty damn good IMO.
Just an FYI for those who might have been curious.

^^ Just a quick update on my latest gas mileage...I got 27.3 mpg on the last tank. This is with me driving pretty fast too.
I'm very happy with still getting over 27 mpg with Hondata and DC headers.
