DC Header and Random Technology Cat Install on an '04 TSX

So I have a 2004 TSX 6speed... and I am not starting to do power mods on it . I feel like I am joining the party a little late, but oh well. Better late than never. I ran into a problem, however, installing (or actually uninstalling) the header. When I went under the car, as you can expect, all of the bolts were covered in rust (live in Raleigh, NC). The O2 sensor, in particular, was rusted pretty bad. I put the 7/8" wrench on it (like Jtso suggested) and started trying to take it off, but instead of twisting the actual screw (nut, bolts, whatever), I was moving the whole exhaust! The flex pipe looked like it was about to break. (haha ok, that is a bit of an exaggeration). I sprayed WD40 on it to maybe loosen it up. I am going to let it sit overnight.

Any more tips on how to get the sensors off of the header and cat? or get any of the bolts off of the exhaust?

Should I use PBblaster instead? I didn't have any on me, but don't they do the same thing?

I did a search, and ofcourse I found all of the writeups, but I just wanted to make sure that I was doing this right, don't want to break the O2 sensor.

Thank you for any tips in advance

Buy an O2 sensor socket and use 6-pt sockets for the rusty nuts and bolts to avoid rounding off the corners. PB blaster should help but let it soak for a while.

I put the install on hold because I am in need of new bolts. But How much is a O2 sensor socket? Is it really necessary? Is it easier to take off the sensor with it than a 7/8 wrench? I bought all of my parts used because I wanted to save money, so I'd prefer to not buy any unnecessary tools, ya know? BM ftw!

I heard thru the grapevine that you spent 900 bucks on all that? haha and i can get greg to do all that work for cheap, once again he doesnt do taurses, he actually works on 350zs, mustangs, wrxs, lexus, acuras, bmws, and anything you can think of. Don't come crying to me when acura gives you a 500 dollar bill for installing all that because ill be back here laughing my ass off lolol

why dont you just unplug the sensor and remove the whole assembly out of the car.. once its out you can get someone to help you (leverage and long bars will help remove the sensor), for the bolts the only ones i had a problem with are the cat bolts (had to take my dremril and cut one off) not sure if youre having issues with the header ones that connect to the block i am only assuming it was the ones connected to the cat

You can rent the o2 sensor socket from autozone, its a 25 dollar deposit which is returned when you bring the tool back
