As a note, the Ford Mustang Cobra SVT post 2003 used this type of supercharger.
Vortech superchargers that Comptech typically use are peaky.
EDIT: But according to their webpage, the TL-S and CL-S units were screw type.
If that's the case, they rock. The screw type (or twin-scroll as Mitsu likes to call them) are always compressing air. Thus you get maximum boost at any rpm...it's flat. The impellers don't touch. The downside to them, is that they are always producing max boost...thus if you let off the gas, you have a LOT more engine braking and makes for a bit jerkier commute. if you aren't used to it.

my girls supercharged type-s with the jacksonracing kit is pushing 280whp with 7 psi with 660 injectors and hondata reflash with jackson racing race header which is also a roots style blower just like my harley truck has 440 hp with 12 psi which i think is better with the instant boost and no lag ,is alway a nice jump on a turbo car
if it shows good numbers ill buy it and let yall know how good it is also www.pulleyboys.com sells the smaller pulles for the roots style blowers to run more boost but u have to add more fuel when u boost so all u need is a good tune and bigger injectors and you will be having mad fun

For around $3600 I'd be a serious contender, depending on the dynos. I was originally waiting for a turbo kit, but it looks like I'll have to consider this as well!
Lastly, I bought this car because I thought I was done with modding.

well only reason i like the blower better its easier to just slap it on and not spend 500-800 just on a tune for a turbo car when u can just get the supercharger and its instant hp and there has been like `27947469413 rsx's blow up with turbo's since they never get a good tune they tend to make the power yeah but for how long can they last with that power ,for daily driving im all supercharger ,and my girls supercharged rsx beats a turboed rsx with 9psi when they raced ,so its whatever you prefer imo ,

wow.. turbo vs. supercharger, my question is, which kit will not put too much stress on my engine, and make it last longer? Also, any more news on when this baby is coming out?

Stress is stress...just like boost is boost. If you dont tune properly reguardless of SC or Turbo you will have problems. We are talking about FI...something that honda didnt come with. Therefore BUILD your engine and tune properly. More boost doesnt always mean more power...you can run lower boost with a higher CR and still make power. Its all personal preferance i like turbo..i have had turbo cars in the past and i want another one. But if all your after is decent power then what you do to get that power is up to you. No matter how you get it you can still have it. I want 400 whp...and that isnt gonna happen with just a SC.

dont we all want 400whp? i feel ya on that.. but im tryn to make my baby last till im outta dental school. ima soph in college now.. so its gunna be for about 6 more years at least... how much should i expect with this s/c? ive heard 290 whp.. that aint bad for me. of course i prolly wont stop there cause ill be power hungry (hondata).. but ill be happy with what i got, and can concentrate on other parts of my car. in the end, like u want the 400hp, i want magazine coverage, along with a few trophies, thas why im concentrating on balancing my mods b/w performance and ICE (lol with 400whp im sure mags will be all over ya).

i highly doubt 290 whp....to get that you will need to change out the exhaust manifold aka race header from J/R which they dont have out for the TSX yet and a hondata kpro...along with injectors and probably a fuel pump and FPR...i dont see how you can get that with just a supercharger alone.

My turbo kit is custom one off kit. The manifold is almost done they have been doing some R&D on it to get the best flow properties for me. The manifold im getting is free...=) i got sponsored for it. But the rest i only plan on pushing 7-9 psi with stock internals. Once they make pistons and rods and a crank ill eventually get them too. Im also going to wait for injectors and the Hondata K PRO...You will see the finished product. I dont want to give away all the details. Just wait =)

I want to roll up to a new cobra and make them shit themselves...i want to be able just hit the gas in 6th gear and never have to down shift and pass whoever i want to =) o matter how fast they are going hehehe

Ima do whateva i can to make this baby go.. without really KILLING MY WALLET... turbo chargin will be my biggest investment, after that its all downhill... my main goal is to trick this out and win some shows...

Son? LOL! He's 6 years older than you!
Anyhow, custom turbo kit + hondata + misc crap to keep it all together is gonna run you $10K easy. Not sure how big your wallet is but I know I couldn't afford that at age 19.
