Comptech Supercharger coming out first week of may?
I hope this wasn't posted before, but I emailed an Acura dealership and they said that they will have 4 SC's in the first week of may!

didn't comptech said they were waiting for hondata reflash?
so the AT SC would have to wait?!?!

i remember reading that comptech wanted to push back the release of the SC b/c hondata wasn't availble,

Maybe they're intending to build upon the work done by Hondata? Isn't ECU mapping a huge process? If so then maybe Comptech would either outsource it to Hondata or at least surf the wave of their initial NA reflash.

I think you have to send your ECu into comptech? Isn't that what the RSX users have to do if they don't have the reflash or kpro?

True. All you would do is buy a more expensive car and spend even more money modding it to make it faster. It's the fun of finding parts and getting it all together that does it for me.

How many of you would pay the extra $4000 at the time you bought your car if it was available directly from Acura like how TRD superchargers are sold?
I'm pretty sure I would.

alright, dumb question...if you supercharge do you get rid of intake? cause the way my friend explained it to me was that it took your exhaust and fed it back to the intake at a cooler temp and higher pressure

A supercharger draws air from the same place the stock intake is and compresses it which forces more air into the engine. Durring the compression stage the air becomes hotter not colder. That's why some kits offer an aftercooler to cool the air down before it enters the engine.
Superchargers a belt to drive the compressor, turbos use exhaust pressure.

I probably wouldn't have bought the TSX then. For the 4K at the dealership with the TL sitting right next to it, I would have probably opted for the TL, or another car in general.
I don't mind dropping the 4K now (even though a SC is not in my near future), but it wasn't what I was looking for the day I purchased my car. Sounds crazy, but that's my explanation

I'm the same way with computers and my gun collection.
Hey, money exists to be spent though, right?

Since this is a comptech supercharger, is it possible that it could be fully endorsed by Acura dealers? In addition, does this add-on quickly diminish the life of the engine? How long can a car last with a supercharger?
