some vids of a guy with an rsx with icebox...sounds good. Not too loud but a nice snarl. The rsx has alot more growl than tsx stock so I think it will be nice for the tsx to make a little noise....

A good STB isn't just eye candy, after installing one on my 328 (it didn't have one stock), eye noticed an improvement for sure, steering was tighter and the front end did seem more solid.
But since the TSX already has one, I'm not sure if you'll really notice a difference in driving feel, other than it may be a few pounds lighter

hah, forgot to include the link before
icebox vids on an rsx...here!

I miss a little intake snarl...not sure i want a complete open element filter though...they can get pretty intense. Actually what i'm worried about is the drive by wire system .... you have no idea how much the throttle is actually open so it might run really loud even at normal crusing.

I really liked the icebox I put on my '01 Integra. It had some growl and didn't sound like a weedeater. My butt dyno showed some increase too. The headers really made a difference and I can't wait for them to be released for the TSX.

I emaile Comptech asking if they had any dynos ready since their products were nearing release. Here's the reply:
"Not at this time. The cat back exhaust should be ready to go by early next month. Please check back or visit our website for new updates regarding parts for the TSX. Thanks."
At least they are making progress.

i also emailed them today asking for a representative to stop by the board and also about some of their prototype dynos ..i assume i'll probably get the same response back.. for comptech early next month probably = october...lol. I'm not gonna be touching the exhaust unless it's quiet + produces huge gains.(unlikely as the stock setup seems pretty good)

I just noticed something...I've looked at the pics of the cat-back system like 10 times and love it, and I want it. The TSX pictured has a body kit on it and the system still stands out. I'll never have the body kit and I'm concerned it'll look too rice. I'm 41 and that's not the look I'm goin for. Any opinions would be appreciated.

What alot of people that dont want the muffler to stand out is to take some hi-temp flat black paint and paint the mufflers. That way only the tips are noticable and it still has a stock look to it.

Here's the link to Comptech's stuff for the TSX. Basically, it's a "Coming Soon" page with pretty good info.

I'm impressed that they finally made a cat-back system. They've always had just axle-back exhausts for the RSX, TL, and CL. Those things don't add anything but sound. I'd like to see those guys post some dynos with the parts additionally.

Will headers just improve the torque and hp? Will i loose any hp/torque anywhere with a header upgrade? How hard are header upgrades to do? and will improved headers change the sound in any way?

To me 2.4 litre NA 4 cyl is nothing much to squeeze out so personally i would expect any much of a gain...
then again my past experienced tell me that Honda always cheap out on their exhaust system.

Comptech is now selling and shipping the sport springs and a rear sway bar.
Rear Sway Bar
Sport Springs
Hopefully they will have some dyno's for the icebox and headers.

The problem with buying the first generation of a model--you want the best out there, but since there is not enough demand to sustain large scale production, our per unit costs are higher. I am salivating over that header, though.
