Comptech dyno graphs

Since I officially have the 'mod bug,' I'm currently researching a quality header. I've stumbled across a few things of concern when visiting the comptech website.

The first of my concerns is the high cost of their SS header for what looks like a 1-2 hp gain.

During their procedure, I wonder if they allowed time between run for the ECU to 'learn' the new setup. (Not sure if it even makes a difference.) My gut tells me that they immediately dynoed the car after install. I will be writing to Comptech and ask why their hp gain seems so low compared to competitors.

Another graph I found interesting is the full build setup consisting of a header, catback exhaust, and icebox intake.

If you look at the low RPM numbers that are most common during daily driving, you'll see that the hp and torque are actually lower until 3900 rpm. Does this mean that if I slap a header and cat-back on my current setup (CAI only) I will lose low-end power? On previous cars, I had some experimental setups that had a testpipe with other mods and although I had some high RPM gains, the low rpm torque/hp loss wasn't worth it when driving to work or school.

Thoughts?

I have the Comptech SS and removed the resonator box (put the K&N dropin) as well as the throttle body bypass and I notice a difference. The engine is more responsive and I seem to get to 60 a little faster. I know a lot of people say that if you don't remove the header, you won't see any difference, however I do think I have. I too want to do the header, but don't want to drop that kind of $$ when tires and brakes are needing to be replaced ASAP.

I see a b16 head , B18B block bored to 2.0L, with shotpeened rods...

Ooops, I forgot that my Integra was sold.

At least I don't have to worry about a little punk driving a $2 hatchback trying to steal my motor!

Hasport is coming out with motor mounts to put K-series motor in other chassis. Your motor's future is not so bright... What do you think they did with all those K24 engines from the train wreck?

The mount has been out there for some time for the K20A.

btw - my teg was stolen before and I practically learned how to steal an integra in order to layer my security accordingly. I was hellbent on them needing an hour or a towtruck.

At least our beloved TSX's need more than a simple screwdriver to steal.
