Cold Cathode kit.

Hey all I want to install some Cold Cathods in the front footwells. Questions.... Where should I ground it on the TSX, should I use Electrical Tape for it, and should I tap into the fusebox for power?

I can't help you with your questions...sorry, however, I will suggest you use LED tubes instead of Cathode tubes. They'll last longer, use much less power, and give off a similar amount of light.

I can tell you there are about 3 or 4 unused blocks in the fuse box that you could use to power these. Do a search for a Sirius install that MrChad did. I helped him identify 2 of those blocks.

in the 04' the whole top row is switched, meaning they are on when the car is on only.
get the mini add a circuit from autozone, thats your best bet.
just connect the lights to that, and ground them.
it will take you literally 5 minutes to hook them up..
the mini add a circuit >*
its what i used for the valentine 1

get the mini add a circuit fuse like mentioned. I did this kit in my car, except I got a set from a computer parts store everything was seperate and I was able to pick from 2,4,6,8, and 10" tubes, encased or bare.

I experimented with both types. The 8" enclosed tubes were way too bright and created a glare off the side windows and were visible from the outside rear of the car. It illuminated the interior and I found that I had to cover them with masking tape to tone them down.

I found the bare tubes easier to install and less obtrusive, but they need to be protected. I bought some clear flexible pvc tubing from Home Depot to enclose them. Takes up alot less space and easier to install, especially on the passenger side. I ended up going with a 6" tube on each side, provides plenty of illumination and I took a magic marker to black out half the tubing to cut back on some of the lighting which created the glare problem at night.

I used one mini add a circuit for 2 lights. Pay attention to how long the wiring is to the light and transformer, if there is too much the tube will not illuminate. I had that problem at first on my passenger side.

I have yet to try any LED tubes, Im not sure of thier sizes, but Im perfectly happy with my cathodes and have this setup in all of my cars for the past 6 years. It feels wierd driving a car without them to me.

plenty of points under the dash when youre working under there. you can also look for existing grounds. i cant remember where i grounded mine, typically i just tie into an existing ground point.
