Cold Air Intake Benefits ( cai )

Cold Air Intake Benefits ( cai )
I have done a search to find the benefits of a CAI and can't seem to find them all. How does it affect gas mileage?
Any increase in horse power?
Others?
Average cost?
Recommended brands?

Well it has been discussed many times before, but what the hell...
Fuel Economy: Slightly better on long highway trips, slightly worse for city driving
Average cost: About $200
Recomended brands: Most run Injen or K&N which are about the same performance and can be installed as SRI if you want. Comptech is a slightly different design which isn't as loud as either the K&N or Injen but also hasn't dyno'd as high.
Horsepower: SRI around +7-8hp, Comptech around +8-9, full CAI around +10-12hp

Just some additional info for CAI...
1. Injen has a slightly larger dia. and slightly shorter intake tube than the K&N.
2. Injen yields slightly more top end gain than the K&N.
3. K&N has more color choices than Injen.
4. K&N comes with a drycharger to block water splashes and large debris.
5. The same drycharger can be purchased separately to fit the Injen.
6. They both use K&N or equivalent air filter.
7. Injen uses a rubber elbow where the IAT sensor is mounted, whereas the K&N uses full aluminum tubing.
8. They both utilize slightly different mounting method but installation is about the same.
I would recommend installing the CAI along with the throttle body coolant bypass mod to maximize the cold air affect.

Thanks all! I'm sure it has been discussed time and time befoer, but when you search for CAI you get 4gazillion threads, none of which specifically discuss CAI. As a matter of fact none of them even explain what CAI means. Thats why I titled this post the way I did.
Anyway, thanks!
Is the throttle body coolant bypass a seperate piece? Or does it attach to the CAI somehow? Approx. Cost?
I have heard that to truely benefit from the Hondata you need a header and CAI. The CAI is my first step toward Hondata. This is why I ask about it.

When installing CAI, open up the louvers in the fog light cover with a
cutter tool on a drill and a stone tool and hand file to clean it up.
At lowes, get a longer bolt, I think 5mm but it's the one for the lower attachment inside the inner fender. Take that bolt to lowes and get a longer one and some rubber washers to insulate between the bracket and the
inner fender. Lowes has a rubberized metal washer to use on the
head of this bolt. This helps a lot with the CAI noise problem.
On the K&N, be sure there is clearance from the intake tube to the
throttle body inside of the silicone hose. The noise is terrible if there
is any metal to metal touching.

It's just an ebay no name brand, cheapest I could find. It works.
I have a voltage stabilizer on the way.
The TSX is already well grounded and I piggy backed onto two factory ground
attachments on each end of the motor. I think the key is to get to the cylinder head where the spark plug discharge is going, and the alternator. I have
three wires to the cyl head.
I'm going to work in a network of cables on the intake manifold bolts
to cover the cylinder head better ( when I finally install the hondata heat
gasket ) and I need some more cable to get to the engine firewall sheemetal.
