"clear headlights"

forgive me for 1) posting this if it has already been posted and 2) being car retarded so using completely non technical terms...but....

what's the deal w/ "clear" headlights and taillights. are there no aftermarket casings for the tsx? i think i saw the "clear" headlights without the weird orange reflector on someone's post (perhaps they came off of a euroaccord)

what about altezza (am i getting that right?) casings for the back? i know i know...it looks cheesy to some, but i would like the option. any info would be appreciated!

It's just an aftermarket modification.

Euro Accords have the clear ones instead of the orange ones we have here in the US and Canada.

http://polepositionproducts.com/jdmhonda/cl7.htm has the JDM look headlights with clear corners. You might want to check out nopi.com or APC products for the rears, Im not sure if they make them yet or ever will. Why ruin the OEM lights in the back though.

thanks for the info!

i like the taillights so i will prob keep as is. however...i'm diggin the clear corner front headlights. i know on the bmw they look hot...i'd imagine it's the same for the tsx.

if anyone has pix of the clear headlights...please post...or direct me to previous post.

FYI, you can't just buy the JDM-look headlights, you have to buy the actual headlights from the Euro-R/Euro Accord which are $300 a piece. Not a cheap mod at all. You can however hack up your headlights if you're brave and paint the orange inserts.

how would i paint the orange things? what color?

i am curious about that, however, i'd prob just f that up and have to spend money replacing them!!! i actually should not be allowed to do any mods myself. i'm car retarded.

I would keep those since your blinkers do have to flash amber. Just take the parking light amber inserts out.

In most states I am under the impression that is illegal to have a color other than amber for the front turn signals. It is definately illegal to have red, blue, and green lights facing forward because they are all designated as emergency colors (blue and green for the rear) When I had my civic, I was pulled over twice for illegal turn signals...once for the rear being blue and once for the front being blue.

My thought on aftermarket mods is if you have to think twice about it, then you're not ready for it.

Again, it's one of those situations where you can take a crack at it with one of your lamps, but it's risky if you don't seal them up perfectly.

It is illegal to have different colors in the front but it is not illegal to take out the orange around it, you just have to put amber bulbs in there so that when it lights up they are still the orange color. Believe me if you have hyper white or really anything other than amber you will get a ticket, and it is a moving violation meaning it goes on your record, i have had a few of them in my days, on both my accord and my 2.5rs. Just a little info for thought.

btw, if you buy jdm headlights, or get custom clear out the corner and you still want to keep an amber turn signal...

there is a bulb out there when you look at the top of it, it appears to be silver, but when it is lit, it lights up orange. my friend has it on his civic coupe w/ jdm civic type r headlights.

that way, you cant see the orange through the clear corners.

Here you go for clarification on law.

Article 3.
Motor Vehicle Act of 1937.
Part 1. General Provisions.
§ 20-38: Repealed by Session Laws 1973, c. 1330, s. 39.

20-129.1.

(7) Front clearance lamps and those marker lamps and
reflectors mounted on the front or on the side near
the front of a vehicle shall display or reflect an
amber color.

you can take out the orange-cover for the turn signal, but you must have an amber reflector somewhere on the assembly. So the Euro headlights are illegal and tinting the amber reflectors are illegal. I'm tinting mine, but leaving two strips of the reflector showing.

By the way, that's federal law.
