Cheap & Easy OBDII Reader

If, like me, you want to be able to read OBDII codes, reset the CEL, but don't need higher-order OBDII info, this unit is a good price, free shipping from Amazon, and so far has performed admirably on my TSX (Random cat throws a CEL about once/mo) and my wife's Volvo (do I need to elaborate?).

That should work just fine for resetting codes. An inexpensive tool to have around in the garage.

I second that they are good to have. I have an Equus 3030 I also got off Amazon for $45 + ship. It was a great deal at the time but I couldn't find it on there now for some reason to link to it. That Actron unit looks just as good tho, and I'll say it saves you a lot of time and hassle dealing with CELs.

Other note: No CELs in a while now w/ antifoulers on the cat. Before, every 2-3 days. You have them in yet Peter?

Hey thats almost the same one Autozone has. But they have the higher model with more buttons on top. But it should work. Its going on the Christmas list now. Thanks Peter.

I've got one drilled out and ready to go, but the couple times I've been under there trying to get the O2 sensor out with a wrench, no luck -- it's tighter than hell. I'm going to get an O2 sensor tool so I can put a breaker bar on and get more leverage, although I'm a little afraid I'll bust/bend something. In the meantime, I get a CEL 1-2 times/mo and, after a few days, it goes away. My brother suggests a piece of well-positioned electrical tape...

^^
O2 sensor shouldn't be installed any tighter than a sparkplug. Make sure to use anti-seize on the threads.
