Cheap air horn for resonator removal

I have a 2006 TSX and removed the air intake resonator today. I found an inexpensive air horn from Parts Express that is dubbed as a speaker port tube. It fits perfectly in the rubber tube you are left with when removing the resonator. It is 3" diameter for the inside tube. It was about $10 shipped. They also sell through Amazon for around the same price.

I used a hose clamp to keep it secure. I also put some tape on the inside to smooth out the air flow as it has a ridge on the inside as it is normally designed to have a tub go inside of it instead of it going inside of something. It probably isn't necessary, but it never hurts.

I'm having a little trouble envisioning this, but if it's where I think it is, where's the water (rain) going to go?

The air horn would have to be completely submerged in water. It sits as high as you can get it in the cavity where the resonator resided. It is probably 16-18 inches off the ground.

OK, I guess I'll take your word for it, but...... a number of CAI/hydro-lock stories on this forum if I'm not mistaken.

^ if you retain the oem bottom portion of the box, there is a by-pass valve that will let water out. so long as you are not gunning the engine through a river, the water will drain out. i believe a user posted a video of this a while back to prove that the by-pass valve actually works and that its actually kinda' hard to hydrolock your engine with something like the comptech icebox...
