Change Rotors and pads or just pads?
Hello all,
I need new brake pads and was thinking about getting the Hawk HPS from either MrHeelToe or Tirerack which would basically sell them for the same price ($91 F, $59 R).
First question, and yes I did a search, would be are the Hawk HPS composite material have negative affects besides the brake dust, or should I stick to ceramic?
Second question is whether I should change the rotors? I haven't had any warping issues today. (knocks on wood)
My main reason is that I am at 41.5k miles now and need new rear pads. Paragon Acura quoted me $375 for just the rears, so I figure I could change them all at the same time. I would like to get increased brake performance for day to day spirited driving.
Any recommendations on different pads and/or rotors and where to get them is also appreciated.

When I had to do the brakes on my 2004, I went with just the pads and flushing the brake fluid. Had Axxis Ultimate pads, which produced a fair amount more brake dust than stock, but provided noticeably more bite than the OEM pads.
I would say that if you're just looking for better pedal feel and slightly improved braking, changing the pads should make a difference. However, if you're looking for the ability to repeatedly brake from high speed without fade, then I would recommend going with slotted rotors as well.
