I have a 2006 Acura TSX w/A-Spec kit. I put on Sumitumo HTR+ size 235/45/R17. I have appromixately 42k miles on my car, and am planning on changing both front and rear brake pads in the near future. For daily commuting, aggressive driving in the Washington, D.C. metro area what do people recommend?

Here are some of the candidates.

Akebono Street Performance Pads
Disc Italia Hyper Ceramic
Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads
Hawk HPS Street brake pads
Hawk HP Plus Race brake pads

Hawk HPS

They're a little on the dirty side, but they perform great.

You might also want to consider Racing Brake ET300s; supposedly they're less dirty.

 

Go with RacingBrake ET500. They're a sick pad and aren't noisy or dusty.

 

+3 On the racing brake pads. I have had them for some time in combination with the rotors up front and have not had a problem at all. I was just saying today how great they have held up over the stock setup. 06 5AT 73K

+5 i just had my rotors/pads/lines all replaced with RACINGBRAKE last week. so far, so good.
