Best match hi-beams to HID?

What is the best match bulb for the hi's to the HID headlights?

Anyone try the Sylvania Silverstars?

I've thought about adding in the Silverstars too - just have been too busy to get around to it. I'm planning on installing them very soon and will post a reponse afterward. Please do likewise if you beat me to the punch.

I've heard Sylvania blows pretty quickly. Maybe you should try Philips Blue Vision, those are pretty much the same but cheaper and lasts longer.

I bought Sylvania Silverstars and am very happy. I heard the same about them not lasting but high beams are used less in most cases for shorter amount of time so hoping they last. I have used PIAA bulbs in the past and Narva bulbs as well. PIAA's are expensive and the light output is so-so, more of a color output in most of there bulbs. Narva buls didn't last, so figured I would try Sylvania Silverstars. Philips bulbs are not the same from what I read, they are close but do not provide the same output. I also am using Osram All Season Super bulbs in my other car which provide an intense yellow light for fog, rain and snow driving.

Think it depends on what type of driving and where you live. There are benefits for upgrading based on that. I am concerned with light output and visibility not color and looks.

I want light output and close color match. I had the Silverstar headlights in my Integra and they were bright and white and lasted at least two years then the car was totalled. Having said that how close do the Silverstar match the HID as compared with regular halogens?

I use to work in Kragen Auto Part store. People be returning them blown so much. I myself had a set for my integra. the right side blew within a month and it's not even that bright . I recomend PIIA .. from what i've heard, they have life time warranty on their bulbs (correct me if i'm wrong).

I'm sure this is the case with a lot of people but I'm sure HID's were a deciding factor in purchasing the TSX considering they are standard where as they are all expensive options for entry level Saabs and BMW's.

Personally I don't care what visual effect they give other people when I drive by, I just love them for night driving because the road is lit up. Now having highbeams to match, how often do you use your high beams? Especially long enough for people to stop and appreciate how your high beams match your blidning HID's.

Foglights is a maybe for me. Personally I don't like driving in any weather that requires foglights. One incident in dense fog was scary enough. But if I did purchase them I think yellow lights work better than HID bright fogs.

Just my

I got cheap h11 bulbs from ebay for my foggies and they match really well. I have had them for a year without problems. Here is the link to them.

Do you always turn your fogs on when you drive at night?

I always do. I just use them for looks. The OEM headlights do such a good job that you do not really need the fog lights. The foggies just light up right in front of the car better but it really does not make a difference. I just hated the air vents where the foggies go. I thought it looked cheap, like something was missing in the front. but that is just my personal opinion

I do not think HID's will work for DRLs at least as they are designed.

phillips vision plus bulbs are great and last a long time. Had them in my prelude and I will put them in all of my vehicles. They should be a good "match" for the HIDs.
