this header was mentioned a while back. i think the consensus was that obx isn't terrible, but its a knockoff of existing designs and might not be the same quality of the original.

OBX makes a number of parts for our car, including a Quaffe type LSD for around 500 bucks.

What I think he meant was power wise. Comptech...well sorry to say it sucks for power. YES the fitment and look is great. But for power they are LACKING. And Dzuy knows it. He is just in denial.

Well, actually I did mean to ask if Comptech is same company as OBX. I got confused because you mentioned Comptech in your original post but then the link is to a OBX part.

So looks more like OBX "refers to" designs by Comptech (and other makes?) and make other own stuff but sell for cheaper?

denial?

me?

nah. i know my car is faster with the comptech i/h/e.

but it is all preference.

if spoon released an exhuast i would have got that.

if toda woulda released a header i would have bought that.

if spoon made an intake i would have bought that.

dc sports is not one of my fav manufacturers. they used to be the jam, but now they just plain suck imo. same with aem. suck. how could they claim that a sri have more hp than a cai? supposedly that's why they didn't release a cai, not that i would have bought it or anything.

that being said

comptech > dc sports > obx

peak hp means crap. more hp thru the whole powr band is ideal. quality goes a long way.

imo, comptech has one the highest quality out for the tsx, as well as any honda/acura.

now give me some toda cams damn it.

Euro-R, TSX, it's all the same as far as bolt on applications when dealing with the exhaust.

The Fujitsubo exhaust I have was labeled for CL7... works fine. Doesn't rattle and move around like your Comptech one they supposidly designed for a CL9 application

^^ But that header is for the CL7. That header bolts up to a K20 vs a K24. It will work with some modifications. After I pay 1K for a header, I only want to bolt it on, not drill on it as well.

Won't it affect the performance on K24 since our car has more displacement than K20? In the end we'll have a more restrictive header.

Someone on the other forum is running it, but I haven't seen any dyno runs with it.
I believe Toda has a CL7 application as well.

it wont fit perfect.

the tubing should be almost the same tho, if not the same diameter.

our block is bigger, not our exhuast manifold.

The DC is fine.
I had one break, returned the lower pipe to DC and they sent a new one.
I can change the header in 1 hour now so it's not that big a problem if
it breaks.

My vendor said he sold 200 and I was the first he heard of, DC said they sold
thousands and only had a few come back.

It may not be that bad, I may have heard of 3-4 breaking on these boards.

I like the color and durability of the finish and like that it is ceramic, taking
more heat out since the heat sheild is removed from the stock manifold.
I really like the low end torque. I ran for a time with stock manifold back on
while waiting for the new bottom pipe. Really appreciated getting the
header back on, I torque around town at low RPM now.
My 5AT idle does get rougher with the header, verified that on the
second install.

If there was another ceramic brand coming out, skunk or toda I might wait for it.

Im not sure if it was Toda or a different company...can't recall right now but it was a well known JDM company that has been copying Skunk2's cam profiles...

I talket with skunk2 about when they are going to release all these nice things to the TSX.

The reply was in 1-2 months.

If I knew this i might just have waited for their header but im going to stick to my AEM/DC configuration.
