4 na banger with greddy exhaust
i've been searching a lot in a-zine and also youtube, looking at some videos/sound clips of greddy evo 2 in different cars
I am really looking for that growlin rumble noise,
and i understand with the boxer engined STI or WRX 4 banger are good at making that sound, especially with Greddy Evo 2
I know TSX with greddy evo 2 give low sound, but no rumble really.
I was shocked when i listened to a na 4 banger TC engine, which is vvti 2.4L (same size as our TSX), DOHC but only 160 hp.
that TC with no mods had GREAT rumble sound with jus Greddy Evo 2 installed.
how does that work or how can i make my TSX sound more rumble

The boxer engine in the Impreza is by nature going to make a very unique sound. Porsches, Subarus have this configuration, and their exhaust notes are unique by nature, since they are horizontally opposed.
Someone my know better, but I don't think you're going to achieve that particular sound with the TSX.

yea i agree with the unique sound of boxer config.
but another question i addressed is how come TC with similar engine config ( 2.4L, 4 banger, 16 v DOHC with even less hp) make better, or great rumble noise

Just how their exhaust is setup is aw my friend's tc the cars smaller so i guess their drone or growl is in a smaller exhasut system.
Honestly the vidoes don't do any justice to most of the exhaust. hear it in person if you can most people love their greddy evo2
i love it everytime i hear someone with it at a meet...
I would trade my fujitsubos or sell it for greddy so thats my 2 cents.

Manifold tubing diameter, length, and shape plays a role in sound as well, so not all 4-cyl engines will sound alike.
Similarly the shape and diameter of the CAT-back, plus the back-box design and fill material.
In other words, many varied factors make the resultant sound, not just one or two things.

It is true that the unequal length header/manifold design on the Impreza is what gives the rumble. If you swap in a equal length header, then it will sound like any other Acura/Honda.

arhh i've been waiting and saving up for Greddy,
but i was recently informed that Greddy is not selling Evo 2 anymore, mainly because its hanger would rub with our bumper and etc.
No wonder i called ~6 to 8 shops and also ebay to find this Evo, and EVERY single shop said it's backordered.
man....Greddy Evo2 was my favorite exhaust for TSX. maybe i'll jus wait for another exhaust.
