04/05 Acura TSX Illuminated Door Sills Group Buy. Need 50 names

Hello,

I am trying to organize a group buy for Illuminated Door Sills for TSX. Currently they are only available to TL. I understand that several TSX owners express interest on the door sill. Supercomputer said he need 50 names before he order. So here we go ...

If you want to see the pic, here is the thread :

How much is this going to cost?

For install, do we have to tap into existing interior light or do we need to just run a switched power source to the door sills?
Basically, what will the install involve?

I don't have the price yet. The one for TL is about $159.

You can PM Supercomputer to see if he has any info.

How do you perform the install? Is it $159 for the complete set of 4?

Totally in for this. As long as it's for $150 or so and really easy to install, then you have another order here!

Count me in, albeit, I'm a bit hesitant because when TL owners were purchasing these and trying to install them, literally almost EVERYONE was complaining on how difficult it was. So be forewarned as this may not be an easy/simple DIY job.

Sorry, I'm not trying to discourage anyone. Just looking out for those of us who aren't electrical savvy.

I have my car for over a year and I still have them on. Just wondering.
I left mine on for a good 2 months, solely for the fact that the blue accent matched the rest of the car and received a lot of positive feedback from passengers getting in and out of the car.

I had to take them off b/c I was showing my friends my car ond day and one of them decided to take the initiative and show off in front of everyone that, "Hey, these are protectant covers for the sills, I'm gonna rip them off to show off that I know this and no one else does..., man I'm smart!"

Therefore, I had to take the rest of them off. In retrospect, I probably would've taken them off anyway after about 6 months. I was always curious as to what the car would look like w/o them on. Now I know...

There are 18 now on the list... I will PM Supercomputer about the existance of the thread and see if he can post something here.

I am not too sure how much information Supercomputer can provide use at this time because the Sills need to be "made" and tested. Hopefully Supercomputer will be able to give us an estimate on the price.

Can I say I am tentatively in? ... depending on actual price + shipping costs (to Vancouver, BC, ) AND if it's easy enough to install.

Thanks

Here are the install instructions:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...2&postcount=75

Basically, you'll have to tap into the fuse box for 12 volt switched power aka ACC Power.
Tap into the door switch pin to get ground (So that it only turns on when the door opens)
Drill a hole in the plastic or existing sill to run the wiring.

Not super difficult if you are comfortable removing panels.
