what do you think non-TSX or non-Acura drivers think about the TSX?
here's my thoughts:
-since there have been few commercials about the TSX, they prob wondered, wtf is that car?
-hope this isn't true (they might think its the luxury civic, cause they think the TL is the only Acura based off the Accord).
-looks fast and sporty for a sedan due to the dual exhausts and clean looking exterior

Believe it or not, some people I've spoken to don't even know Acura exists. I've also read that a lot of the non-enthusiast car buying public doesn't even know Acura is Honda.
So IMO, I think non-TSX/Acura drivers, for the most part, think it's a nice little luxury sedan and would agree with your first and last thoughts. But the second part, I think it really depends on how knowledgable they are with car brands, and thus, I don't think they would know that.

thats odd people don't know acura is related to honda, so infiniti is prob less known to others that its nissan/datsun. prob a lot of people know lexus is toyota. ok, maybe not :P

A lot of people don't know the connection between Honda and Acura, or Nissan and Infiniti, or even Toyota and Lexus. Most people are utterly clueless when it comes to cars. They just know that you look rich driving certain brands and less so driving others.

-I don't think people will think of it as a luxury Civic. If they've never heard of the TSX, they'll probably assume it's a BMW.
-I think most people can agree that the styling is simple and stylish, like the Prelude.
To a lot of people that I deal with a TSX is still an unknown car.
Even my friend, whom I told I got a TSX, when he saw me(and my TSX) in the parking lot said: "You must be rich since you got a TL". He actually knows a bit about cars but is more interested in MBs and BMWs.

I've met a lot of people in parking lots and stores that I go to that ask about my car. I don't think the TSX is as popular here in Canada so not too many people don't know about it. I like the fact that I drive a car that not every other person is driving. Although I am seeing lots more TSX's recently. I think Torontonians are finally catching on
In terms of Acura's brand recognition, I think it depends on where you live.
If you live in a high ricer area, then the brand recognition for Acura is higher.
In my area, I think people consider it just another Japanese brand. Only the people who really drive Japanese cars could probably tell you the advantages of owning an Acura.
It's hard to compete when the average car is a E-class or 5 series.

Personally, I like that the TSX isn't known by a lot of people. Kinda adds a bit of mystery to the car. I've got to agree with Revenent as to where you live has a lot to do with it. When I'd visit family in the middle of Illinois farm country - where everybody drives 'American' b/c that's the accepted thing to do, I'd get stares from people when driving through the small towns. This was in my Honda - haven't taken the TSX up there yet. Can't wait for the stares again! HA!

Oh well. Whatever - I like the car and that's what matters.
