I was using the heated seats on my 06 for the first time yesterday and even on high they didn't seem very hot. I'm not looking to smell bacon fry when I sit down, but it just seems like it should be hotter. Anyone else feel this way? COuld there be a problem with my car?

They take a few minutes to heat up to the proper temperature, but my seats seem plenty hot to me...

I thought something was up when I first got my car. They are hot but not burning hot like on the Audi/VW's. Even on high I still think they could be a bit warmer. But then again, when it is 20 outside anything would be a help.

I was just thinking about this yesterday when I was driving. But in my situation, I thought it was way hot and it was on low. Even my back started to sweat because of it, so I had to turn it off and roll down the windows for a little bit to cool off.

Mine seem to take forever to heat up. The BMWs I've test driven are like stove tops in comparison. I'm honestly wondering if my heated seats have an issue. Seriously, the car gets up to operating temp faster than my seat get warm.

Mine heat up fast on high, fast enough that I have to turn it to low or off pretty quickly. It's actually been cold enough here that I've been using them. They work well.

I have to agree with you. Mine seem to take a while to heat up and then once they are they seem like half-warm.

mine are quite hot, they heat up to a comfortable temp in ~4min., and which point I have to turn them off from getting too hot

I was going to make fun of you for having to need your seats heated, but I checked the weather and I guess it is a little chilly down there.

I haven't turned mine on yet to try. I guess I have too much insulation.

I agree, they're not as hot as many other cars with heated seats. But I kind of like it, I find other cars seats too hot to use for more than about 2 minutes.

Yea... mine actually take a few minutes to warm up where my dad's car took little if any time at all to warm up. However... it does feel nice and warm when it's heated up. Feels sort of like a good "bath" temperature when you're sitting in the tub relaxing.

The engine also tends to heat up to operating temperature really quick because out engines dont operate as warmly as other engines. So naturally it gets up there quicker.

But i was wondering before if they had an issue.

I think it's an Acura thing, none of my Acura seats have worked as well as my non-Acura cars. I prefer the rotating dial continuiously variable type found in some of the luxury cars. Maybe it's the luck of the draw though as other owners are reporting on here their seats are fine. My CL and TL-S where really lame with my MDX and TSX being maybe five out of ten.

My driver seat takes about 3 mintues or so to become noticably warm (temperature outside at about -5C). I shut them off after a couple more minutes after that - I would say it becomes hot enough at that point. Although, they appear more hot on my rear end than in the back. I've tried the passenger seat but I know that there is no back heat element because of the side airbag sensors.
Just to note, my friend had an old Audi, if you put the heated seat on, after 5 mintues you would smell the inside seat foam smoking! Now that, I would say, is a little too hot!

I use mine all the time- including in 100 degree summer heat. Then again, I was in a car wreck before I got my TSX and have had back issues ever since. The heated seats (mine get hot) help soothe my back during driving. The heated seats in our '01 Nissan Pathfinder don't get nearly as warm as the TSX...

The drivers back is heated but not the passengers because of weight sensing equipment.

I turn mine on High in the morning when its 28*F outside, but after a couple minutes it gets uncomfortably warm and I set it to Low.

That's good to know because I have an '01 Pathfinder as well! The Pathfinder must have pretty weak heaters because they do take a while to heat up and never get that hot. If the TSX is just a little better I'll be content.

Mine are plenty hot, they don't heat up as fast as they do in my Mom's MDX or my dad's Volvo, but they get just as warm, if not, warmer. It's 4 degrees in Chicago right now...so I'm making very good use of them. Lucky for me I got my TSX just in time for our latest cold snap, I love heated seats. Now all I need is a heated steering wheel!

That was the ONE (and only) thing I liked about the 2006 Maxima when I drove it. Being in upstate NY, I sure wouldn't mind that feature on the TSX.

the seats in my fiance's jeep grand cherokee are ridiculously hot, way way hotter than the tsx's seats.
they are so hot, that they literally burn you if you leave them on to long.
the low setting is comparable to our high setting.

Currently about -22C or -8F and the seats get hot in a matter of minutes then I've gotta switch it to low cuz it gets uncomfortable.

Hahaha.... i never believed in heated seats... well, cuz i never been in a car with one, and i felt like i didn't need it. I have a puffy jacket with jeans.... i ain't no pussy so i don't need heat on my butt....

but right now..... i just enjoy every moment of it! call me pussy, but i am enjoyin!

The seats in my A4 go from 0 to 6 and "2" is easily warm enough. However, the heat isn't noticeable until the engine reaches temperature (about 10 minutes today). Same mechanism for the fan heaters. I guess they need engine heat to work. Is this the same in the TSX?

i turned on the heated seats this morning on the way to work. it was about 37F outside. it took a few minutes to get warm, but once it did, the seat got really hot. i turned to "low" and it was fine. made me want to stay in the car.

now the heated steering wheel sounds like a good idea...

I used mine this morning, was about -4F. It heated up in about 3 minutes on hi which seemed ok for me.

I think I read in the manual or quick start guide that the heat will cycle on and off on the high setting after it reaches temp. This is probably why they don't get as hot as some of the other vehicles. Maybe this is not a bad thing since it draws a lot of current from the electrical system.

It also said that the "lo" power setting was on continously.

When the seat is on high, it cycles on-n-off once it gets up to a certain temp. You may be noticing this if you keep on high too long.

Suppose to switch it to low after you have it on for so long. The low setting will stay on continuously. I think this is somewhere in the manual.
