I got the TL for a loaner car and I kinda liked the TL's steering wheel better than the TSX's.

Never drove the TL but I don't like the steering wheel on the TSX. I think it's way too big and I wish the spokes that attaches the wheel to the center could be higher up. When I rest my arm on the door rest my hand hits the wheel right where the spokes attaches so I can't get a grip on it unless i lift my hand up or drop my hand lower.

04-05 TSX steering wheels are like noodle-sized. I'd definitely prefer the 06 TSX steering over the previous. It gives you more grip & confidence when you drive.

That's interesting. I didn't know the 06 TSX steering wheel was different.

What's the difference from the 04-05 to the 06?

Actually, if there's any steering wheel that I want, I want the one in the RDX.

isn't that a Civic wheel? if i had my choice, the newly redesigned TL wheel looks awesome. i prefer 4 spoke rather than tri spoke because i like to drive holding at 6 oclock.

I much prefer the TSX wheel to the TL - it was actually one of the reasons why I chose the TSX.

IMO, a 3-spoke wheel is noticeably sportier because you have more freedom to slide your hands while cornering because they are less restricted between 3 and 9, compared to a 4-spoke where your hands are blocked off from sliding at all by the spokes.

Good points... everyone.

Is it possible to put a TL steering wheel in a TSX?

the 06 TSX wheel should be a direct swap to the 04-05 TSX. Take out the airbag unit, unscrew whatever u need to. The only thing is probably the radio control part, anybody know how that part works?

I like the TSX steering wheels better. It's perfect size. The only issue with my 05 is that it can be thicker like VW/Audi thick. Then it would be perfect!

Not to hijack, but... I have an 05 and a few months ago had the steering wheel replaced under warranty (the little tabs on the wheel at the top of the steering column, behind the silver trim pieces with the buttons, warped in the heat). The tabs on the new wheel are significantly thicker, and I'd swear that the wheel is too. I have not been able to compare side by side, but first thing I noticed when I got the car back was that the wheel seemed thicker, and I don't think it was just because it was new. If someone can confirm that, that could be an avenue for some people.

I installed the 2006 OEM steering wheel on my 2005. I kept my original airbag though.

Fits 100%, for those who also want to do this mod.

The '06 TSX wheel in my car looks just like the TL-S wheel for the most part.

Can anyone post a picture of the 04 or 05 steering wheel? I want to see how skinny the wheel is.

My 06 has the same steering wheel as yours, so I'm not sure what's up with the other one.

I didn't know they were different. Other than the buttons on the 2004 model. I test drove a 2005 and bought a 2006 and hardly noticed the wheel changing on me.

The TL wheel does look less like the HFL and Info buttons weren't added on. I like that about it.

yup, sounds right.

I use a leather cover on my wheel.
without the cover the wheel is just too thin for me.
I've been using covers for years, just used to it I guess.

I swapped an 06 wheel into my 04 and couldn't be happier with it. It's a definite improvement. I kept my original airbag and steering wheel controls and popped them into the 06 wheel.

As for a TL OEM wheel, you'd need to determine three things:

1) Would it bolt up to our hub (most likely, I think Honda designs are fairly universal)
2) Would our airbag fit (just by looking at it, no)
2a. Would a TL airbag properly connect to our wiring harness and keep SRS functional?
3) Would the button modules fit (no)
3a. Would the TL button modules properly connect to our wiring harness?

So... it could be doable, but it would be expensive to get a whole new set of parts.

Maybe it's just me, but compared to the 06+ wheels, that 04 wheel looks spaghetti thin. Another notable difference (that might have been mentioned before) is the 06+ wheels have little bolsters at 10 and 2.
