Hey I just got my 3000k hid fogs installed today. I was wondering are your bulbs putting out lots of heat?

I bought my set of HID H11's on ebay too, but for 50 shipped. I think they're so cheap the damn ballast or bulb is putting out too much heat. It's hella bright and HOT!!!!! It literally fogs up the glass in the case. I'm afraid I'm going to melt my bumper or something worse. Any idea for me?

I guess i got what i paid for... cheap ass POS!

Mine are slightly warm but not as hot as my h11. I wouldn't worry about them melting much, but if your getting fogging make sure the back of the housing is sealed a bit tighter. Electrical tape should help. Water can get in usually from there.

are you sure? the H11 HID fogs are feeling hot like an exhaust. I'm pretty sure they're seal in tight, it was a tight fit to try to turn them into place. It doesn't fog up until the HIDs warm up completely, i would say about a minute or two and when you turn them off, you can see it fogging. By time they cool, the fog evaporates and looks normal again. I'll take a photo at night for you to see.

I'm really concerned... my friend was suggesting i put in projectors. We got our HID kits together from ebay and his car came with projectors for the fog light position. His doesn't feel warm as mine

^ maybe you got moisture in there somehow. Try taking out the light bulb for a day or two so that it could dry it up completely maybe? When its not raining of course...

The fog is not from the bulbs just getting hot itself but it sounds like it's mainly coming off of the moisture that is finding a way in mixing with the heat. Just check the seals and make sure everything is tight, it rains, gets hot and cold over here and all after I put in the kit and no issues with anything yet.

Mine gets hot as well but never causing any moisture or condensation. The H11's were 55W which is much hotter than the 35W HID kit I have now. Check the kit you have and make sure it's not higher than 55W but for the foglights its recommended to run 35W since the housing is so small.

Projectors won't do anything for the heat, they are more for telling the beam where to go opposed to keeping the heat down afaik. So I don't think you having projectors in the foglights will do anything for you.
