A year of post replies

Ok, it took me a year of reading to start posting and I've digested a lot. So here's my reply on several common subjects, all together.

1) Don't even think of using low octane fuel. Have respect for the machinery!
2) TL for more power. TSX for handing and value.
3) Sorry I got the auto (wife thing), get the stick.
4) Yes, treat the seats often and the leather will hold up fine.
5) 240hp? Yes please.
6) Still love to drive it after a year.

You know, this is actually a great idea. We could use a cliff notes sticky thread since all the fawkin n00b's cant find the search.

Though now they will have to find that sticky Cant win...

Agreed. Yes the stick would have been fun for a short while........but I am so glad I decided to get the 5AT. And by no means is it slow.

Don't forget:
"I'm glad I got the navi / I wish I'd gotten the navi."

From now on, whenever a n00b asks a question, rather than telling them to search, let's tell them to ask Pearlman!

I see I took some heat for only listing a few items. It wasn't meant to be everything I learned, just common topics I had an opinion on. I missed the nav/no-nav debate for sure but that one is more of a preference item and a cost consideration. One thing I did learn on the forum is that I agree with those who recommend getting what you want and are comfortable with. I am disappointed that nobody questioned my TSX loyalty because I wanted more HP though. Doesn't anyone want to rant that I should buy a different car if I want more power (seen those remarks at least 10 times in the past)? The car does have great balance of comfort, features, mileage and handling but I'll be adding headers, intake, hondata etc. as soon as I get comfortable with the warranty issues (have to get crazy some day and pull the trigger). I had read that gearing is different with the 6speed though and would even give up a couple miles per gallon for more lower end gearing, even with auto.

Its just common sense to me. If a mod tells you not to do something and you do it, you pay the consequences. If you disagree with something a mod did, take it up in PM. If you call out a mod and call him a pussy in a thread what would one expect? You don't call a cop a pussy to his face when you get pulled over and expect to talk your way out of a ticket.

You should add another point that "trade in your AT for a same year, same mileage 6MT will cost way more less than convert an AT to MT!"
