Hey what up fellas,

i am looking into staying with Xm, i had bought my car in january before the rate increased. Do you know if i still get the 9.99 a month or i have to pay the 12.99 a month. If so what were the rates for the year before the increase if anyone knows.

I don't think you can get the 9.99 without having to try to talk the sales rep into it. The prices changed at the beginning of April and I remember reading in one of the XM threads that everyone with factory XM was rushing to renew their subscriptions at the end of March before the prices went up. XM was giving all current subscribers until the end of March to basically lock in the 9.99 rate for the next year.

I would still call though, and give it a try. Who knows, since you had factory XM maybe they will cut you a break. Good luck!

i did call them and the rep told me that i could still lock the rate but i need to tell them what offer i have and they will honor it. so what i want to try and find out is what the reate was fpr the year before the price had gone up and then tell them thats the offer i have and try and get them to honor it basically

I never got around to locking in my rate... but keep in mind with the price bump comes extra service. I like that the internet stream is now free, I listen at work.

If you ask for the "Winback" rate, effective 4/1/05, you'll get XM for $77/yr. (It used to be $60, which is the rate that I got, even though I called in shortly after 4/1) This includes the internet stream, which I now receive even though I'm still in the first 3 months of free service and my promotional rate has not even begun.
