Then how about the 'regular' WRX?? That's less $$ and still whoops any TSX and almost any other car in performance.

No. I could get the TL or any other $35k car, but still plan on getting the TSX instead because I like it better overall.

Nope, too many WRX's out there. Pretty much near everyone has one, I saw 2 parked next to each other yesterday.

STI has 300hp, unique but a lot of money. I hate the hood, its the ugliest thing ever, but for that much power I could live w/ it. For a WRX w/ 230hp, nah couldn't live w/ its shortcomings.

My understanding of the thread title meant straight up trade my TSX for a STi, for the free $6000 or so in value I'd do it.

we are talkin the same language NOW

man I LOVE my tsx to death just for the fact that it is better value overall and appealing than most cars out there

STI is a killer ... it might not be as appealing as TSX for some people but I personally think it's HOT

300hp and 300torque AWD makes you like it more

I gonna test drive it this week

No, I wouldn't.

I was thinking about trading in my WRX for the STi, though. I've only had the TSX for about six months so I don't see the need to get another new car.

Love my TSX too much to trade it in. Ever.

no way man! the exterior styling on the wrx looks dated, plus the reliability of subaru stinks cause my cousin had a wrx wagon and on the 1st day after he took it home, there was an engine prob.

i'll swap my tsx either for an AWD next gen Is300 if the rumors are true or an Audi S4.

No way.

I love my refined TSX. The STi is way too raw of a car for what I want!

I had a deposit on a STi before I bought the TSX. The only reason I didnt get the STi was because my fiance bought an Evo.
I didnt want to 2 turbo cars thats going to be garage whores and race/track fun cars. I need a daily driver and thats that the TSX is.

Its safe to say that the majority of the people on this board isnt into "real" performance. Intakes, exhausts, lowering springs, dont qualify as "real performance" aspect.

No.

1. The STi is a boy racer. Being 13 mos out from the big 30, I just cant see myself driving around in a WRX.
2. The transmissions in the subarus are shit. The 5sp in the regular wrx's basic design is over 20 years old.
3. The interior looks cheap, I just couldnt see spending 30,000 on a car to go fast with an interior of a 14,000 car.

Even the saab 9-2 looks a little better inside but is still the same basic japanese no frills, it works deal with it type interior. The Lancer EVO is even worse then the WRX. Sure a fast 0-60 is nice, but I say save your pennies for an S4.

I would proabaly go for the EVO over the STI but neither of them would replace my TSX.

No.

One of my co-workers has a sti. the look gets old too fast. in Seattle he's stuck on the bridge just like an Escort.

When he gets married, the wife will definitely want a minivan/suv instead.

You may be right about this. I am a former s2000 owner and considered the evo before buying the TSX.

They are as different as a pick-up and a station wagon. The TSX is a quite rider with luxery feature, and just enough of an exhaust system to have that slightly familiar hum.

It is not a performance car, period. It can perform, but that is not its purpose. IMO.

S2000, EVO, etc. different class all together. Not as elegant, more powerful

If I wanted one I would've gotten it instead. I did think about it but I decided I only wanted one car that was begging for some new mods and my Integra handles that just fine, but the tsx is starting to beg too.......crap I'm gonna be poor.

Funny...I actually went to go check out an STi with a friend and it has crossed my mind... But I wouldn't trade in mine because I don't want to give up the some of the luxuries and the look of the TSX:

Sunroof
Heated seats
power driver seat
stereo/cd player/aux for MP3 player
noticed there was not as much interior room as TSX

No BUTs...

I like cars that are refined but have a sporty edge to them. I'm not in the market for raw power. My car is a commuter capsule so comfort is slightly ahead of performance in my book. Plus it definitely offers the best bang-for-your-buck!

It would be nice though to have a fun-car, daily driver and utility vehicle...but alas, my budget allows only the daily driver. :P

TSX or STI

Hi

I would stick to my TSX, even though STI is more responsive, faster, and a dream to drive. The governing decision for me is the insurance.

From where I live the average insurance for a TSX (Honda Euro Accord) is $2000, and STI over $6000, and this is with 65% discounts.

Plus nearly every Tom, Dick and Harry has a WRX or a Skyline arround here.

Cheers

The WRX STi would be nice....as a second car. With that said, No, I would not trade in my TSX. I like the refinement and luxury of the TSX and it's not to say that it is without any performance whatsoever. It handles nice with decent acceleration. Plus, it's more comfortable for long trips and it looks more professional.

Sure, it's no beast like the STi, but in a way that is good. I'm tired of the Fast and Furious crowd and with that huge spoiler, you just attract more attention. When I had my Integra, nearly everyone would try to race me. I'm 27 now so I've left all of that behind me.

I drove my friends STI yesterday. The car is fast and has cool racing seats and is AWD but that's it. You can't enjoy the car's power as much as you would like to because by the time you get to the top of second you have to slow down. Don't get me wrong the car is fun to drive but you can only use 50 % of the cars power. This car is great for the track but not for everyday driving.

The interior suchs (except for the seats ) he has no radio, the rear seats don't fold down, No room in the back seat. The gearbox is dosen't even compare to the TSX's.

However, the blow-off valve is cool, but the wing is ugly.

Bottom line I wouldn't trade my TSX for a STI. Also, chicks think that the STI is quote "Why would you want that car it looks stupid " I have yeard this more than once.

But if you were 23 what would u get.

If you were 23. Would you rather be seen in a TSX or a STI. This is the group Subaru and Acura are trying to appeal to. I think that the STI attracts more attention and is a beast to drive. But I think that the TSX isnt really a head turner. But i think once people have a ride in it, it becomes addicting. What are your thoughts, put ur self in the perspective of somebody just getting out of college. If you could be given either car.

It doesn't cost the same, so where are you going with this? If an Enzo or SLR or Carrera GT cost $25k, would you trade your TSX for it?

if you went to a subaru board and asked it the other way, would you trade in your WRX Sti for a Tsx, they would say no way.
