Would you trade-in your TSX for a Civic TypeR?
#3
No, not at this point in my life. But that car sounds like its going to be really quick.

Let me help you!
If they're upgrading the civic, then I wonder if they're changing their focus to be more performance-oriented. And in that case, what goodies would the higher models have in the future to keep it better than a civic...
and even though it sounds like it'd be quick and popular, I wouldn't go for it. I'm trying to graduate into more expensive cars with goodies on the inside...not downgrade to a small civic. I guess I'm getting old...

the NAVI is no way flawless and the sound system is no way perfect
The interior on the new Si's hug the driver better than the TSX, so I would suppose the Type-R would be on par if not better. I've known a lot of people with Integra GS-R's(with leather) upgrade to the Type-R's interior(alacantra), but that is totally a personal choice. Trunk capacity is close enough.
The big difference between the cars is the TSX screams luxury with all the gadgets, where as the Type-R is a daily drivable race car
-----------------------------------
and as far as choosing the Type-R over the TSX i'd say HELL YES, I am currently building my TSX for a show/auto-x and the Type-R's rarity would allow the show side to score me some points and it would dominate the TSX stock for stock on the track(both twisties and straight line)

That's definitely my biggest gripe with the TSX.
Don't get me wrong, I love my TSX - but if Honda/Acura doesn't do something about their torque-deficient engine designs, I'm looking elsewhere for my next car...

Eh, maybe as a beater car or something.. but it's definitely something that I won't replace the TSX with. I'm not saying that a TYPE-R would be a downgrade, but I really don't see myself driving a CIVIC after driving the TSX.

I really don't think they are anywhere remotely in the same catagory. If you are thinking about trading in a TSX for a Type R (not sure how'd you get one), than you def bought the wrong car the first time!
However, if your just curious i wouldn't.....lol
And i agree with Reach, my next car will have double the torque!

I think he's just putting forth a hypothetical situation because we'll see pigs fly before we'll see that particular Type R.
And I agree with the more Tq comments.

the little sister that's kind of cute and you'd settle for while you'd gawk over the much hotter sister, ala the Type-R

It looks like a fun car to take out on weekends though. Hopefully the Type-R badging won't inherit the theft rates of the ITR (if we even get it here).

Nope..... the TSX has a better look and this is something for my age. If you ask me the same questions 6+ years ago... I might say yes.
Or if you are talking about a used NSX, and hell yea,,, even a used one is fine to me!!!

It's interesting that there are people who apparently really like the idea of a Civic Type-R, and ended up buying an Acura TSX instead. I wonder why the Civic Si or RSX Type-S didn't appeal to them more --they are much more in line with the Civic Type-R than a TSX.
Perhaps this says a lot about the universal likability of the TSX?
