Wohoo I Got It!!

I finally got my TSX so happy, well almost picking it up tommorow but so pumped. Few questions/concerns though. Haha bought it without even test driving it, I hope i won't be disapointed, but anyways I plan on driving it to LA sunday, I was wondering if this was a good idea. Would it be bad for the engine for me to drive it long distance so far, and if do could I drive at 80 or so and keep the engine good?

I'm sure you'll be pleased with the TSX. Highway driving is excellent for break in and I'd highly recommend it. Don't floor it or slam the brakes. But one word of advice, read the manual !
Its the right thing to do.Page 184, Break In Period:
*Avoid full throttle starts and rapid acceleration (<=600miles)
* Avoid hard braking (<=200 miles)
*Dont change oil until the recommended time/mileage interval.

Welcome !

it might be a good idea to vary your speed as well on the highway, maybe between like 60-90 or 100 mph. I had to do quite a bit of highway driving the day after I got my tsx, and did this, no cruise; and my motor was broken in quite well

thanks for the tips guy!! suprised to hear such high speeds, i was afraid to take it over 60, but from what I hear its just more important not to accelerate too fast and vary my speeds. Thanks a lot guys!

Breaking in your engine on the highway will reap you a better running engine.
Yep, just don't beat on it and don't use the cruise... for the first 600 miles.
I'm getting 32mpg in mixed city & highway after 7K miles....
I love this car !

to you. a tsx is welcome anytime in LA. are you planning on going on hwy 1 or on the 5? the trip wouldn't be bad for your car, but just like the manual says, try to avoid any "hard" driving or abuse straight off the bat. i suggest a trip along the coast (from central to the bay anyhow) if you have time to spare. however, the drive out of LA will probably take a while if you're going on PCH (or anywhere else over here for that matter)

hope you love your tsx as much as i do mine. and don't be a stranger on the forum either.

I love the car so much, the sound system is great and I love the way the engine sounds. Its my first new car, so I really like it. Thinking about getting subs and intake, but I'll let my baby stay stock for a while
