Wiper blade refill

It is time to change the wiper blade on my 2006 TSX. I don't want to change the whole thing because I like the look of the OEM one. Are there any aftermarket refills that will fit the OEM blade and where can I get them?

Thanks.

Why don't you just get the OEM wiper blade? My TSX's wiper blades would skip ever since I got them, but I recently replaced them with OEM blades, and the new set doesn't skip at all.

From what I hear, the aftermarket refills are taller, so your wipers won't sit as low as stock.

When I was debating on what wiper blades to get, I did a search and found alot of threads about this. From what I gathered, everyone with aftermarket blades raved about them. However, it was mentioned that the wipers didn't have that stealth look anymore (since aftermarket wipers are taller). I replaced it with OEM wiper blades, and it was better than the one that came with the car

Thanks for all the replies. It seems the common consent is to get the OEM refill. I think I will give it a try.

the oem blades, as far as durability goes, is disappointing. i got my car in december 06, and after a few weeks of snowy and icy conditions, the rubber casing cracked on one of my wipers.

i still haven't replaced it yet, but i haven't decided what to really get. i think a lot of ppl mentioned the bosch icons as a decent replacement.

No ice issues here...OEM lasted the year and is still good, so it's a stock change for me since I have a one year and change policy on blades.

For those doing it, here's a couple of tips...

Easiest way to refill the blades is to remove the assembly from the arm. Lift the arm (from the parked position) away from the windshield. Flex the blade assembly away from you if you are on the driver's side, and you'll see a little tab where the arm meets the blade assembly. Squeeze the tab and the blade assembly can be slid off the arm toward the windshield.

The blades are changed by working the blade under the edge of the rubber cover and sliding it out...two metal stiffening/mounting strips will fall out. You feed the replacement into the blade carrier (look at the replacement, one end will slide on, the other doesn't have the gripping groove all the way to the end, it is a deadend to hold the blade in) while holding the two metal strips in their grooves, as the blade feeds this becomes easier.

Take the blade unit back and it snaps up into the arm "U" bracket. Make sure and push up until the tab clicks into place or you might lose the blade/scratch the windshield.

Repeat...

On the refills...the Driver's is a 76622-SEA-J11 and does not cross to a Honda USA part number. The passenger is a 76622-SEA-A11 and does cross to a valid Honda USA part number, however the local Honda dealer charges $.02 more for the Honda refill than the Acura dealer charges for his.

MacChurchill Acura, Fort Worth, TX

J11 $7.82 and A11 $6.77...plus $1.21 in sales tax out the door.

I think rubber can become brittle in icy conditions. If you're going to complain about OEM's rubber...you might want to avoid any aftermarket wipes utilizing rubber =P

I think the bosch is popular as well, but on the 06+ the wipers won't be as "stealth" looking since it'll sit up higher

Did the '04s come with these "stealth" type blades? I haven't replaced mine since I bought my car used. It just has regular type blades on it, I assumed the dealer replaced them before I bought it and those were the OEMs.

In any case, whenever I buy replacement blades I buy Bosch. They last twice as long as the cheapos and with less chatter before they're about to die. I recommend them to everyone. I was going to try out the Bosch Icons next time I needed a set.

I think they were introduced on the 2006 models. They are also showing up on the new Civics as well.
