Wind noise above 100 MPH..

Slaloming through all the "illegal" retorts about going 100, has anyone noticed that the TSX has plenty of wind noise upwards of 100 MPH? When I got to 120 I thought something was going to rip off.

Going 140 in my FX45, didn't hear a thing. And it was solid like riding on rails.

Thoughts?

i don't think any cars would be quiet at that point...we are talking about 120mph!!!

even no wind noise u will get tons of road noise from the tires

however my TL doesn't reallie get noisy until 125mph

I think you need to have your license revoked if you're driving that fast on public roads.

And what exactly do you mean by wind noise? The most noise I hear is the tire noise and that's unavoidable at speed.

if i'm driving at 120 mph, wind noise won't be the thing i'd be concerned about.

Unless you're posting this from Germany, I can't see how wind noise at 100mph is an issue. Are you cruising for extended periods at that speed?

At 120 in my eclipse, it sounds like i'm in a plane (with all the noise). I think at 120, it's normal. The drag coefficient on the TSX is one of the best, so I doubt anything will rip off.

I can't hear the radio at 120 mph, there is not enough bass and the clarity sucks. I also wrote a letter to Acura about it. Just because I choose to risk the lives of my passengers and fellow travelers shouldn't mean I shouldn't do it in the quiet comfort of my TSX's cabin.

There seem to be a bunch of New Yorkers who want to drive over 100 MPH. I am thinking we found the perfect getaway car....However, if you just robbed a bank, I am not sure why you would be concerned over wind noise

Holly mother!! I guess they are right, it is a slow car if the criminal was shot in the leg through the door while driving.....Maybe the wind noise distracted him

Heh, you guys are a riot. Thanks for all the humor - well taken, and in good taste.

As for wind noise, I was reading an article about luxo boxes, the likes of 7 series, LS430, Jag XJ, etc, and they all mentioned that each car was ultra quiet at high speeds (on the track) - except for the Jag.

So, I wanted to test this out myself. No, I don't travel at 120 on a regular basis. And no, my license shouldn't be revoked when I'm doing 120 on a 4-lane EMPTY road at 3 am. Besides, this is America, where we still have rights (well, kinda not, after the Patriot Act was passed, but that's another discussion).

Ok, thanks again.
