Will putting 89 gas harm the TSX engine at all?

Premium over here (93) is about 10-15 cents more than the mid-grade gas (89).

I'm thinking of just starting to put 89 octane gas in the TSX just to try it out and maybe for the next 2 weeks. Will it harm the engine at all and will I be getting the same or possibly worse gas mileage if I do try the 89 vs. 93?

I will never put 87 regular gas in my TSX ever.

It probably won't hurt your engine to put 89 in, but for an extra couple of dollars, why risk it? Plus you get better gas mileage out of 93 vice 89 so it almost pays for itself. I am paying $3.71/gallon for 91 octane, which means it costs about $60 to fill up my tank, an extra 2-3 dollars isn't going to break the bank. Well, not as much as having a dirty engine.

If you don't care, it doesn't matter. The gf fills hers with 89, and her coworker fills his leased TSX with regular.

Hey I've found another way to save a minimal amount of money a year, ive stopped getting oil changes all together, I figured, I paid alot of money for this car, i shouldn't be expected to shell out more money to take care of it, I also use diesel sometimes if it is less expensive than 87 octane, hope this helps out with saving a few cents on your luxury car!

when you are in some of the gas stations in south dakota and montana where regular gas is at least 12-15 cents more than premium where is the savings.

Try the rest of the country where Premium is $0.20 more than regular.
