the real question is why do they charge more for a tsx when u can get almost the same options, more power, more space, for less $$ in an accord.

Well if you want a MT sedan then the Accord is simply not an option.

The TSX has more options (VSA, HID, etc), is better looking inside and out, is made in japan , has a better transmission, and is a much better handling car.

If you want to go really fast in a straight line and need lots of room for groceries and kids, then the accord may be a better choice. Some of those new minivans fit this bill as well.

But we are not going down this road again. Try a search to find out all the answers to your question.

I had a V6 in my VW Jetta GLX wiht 174 hp. Low-end torque was frightening, but the car flattened out fairly quickly. The TSX has some challenges with low-end power build, but , IMHO, the tradeoff occurs at about 1500 rpms, and the TSX power kicks in; I find midspeed and highspeed acceleration to be very good.

What I meant was there is no MT on the V6 Accord Sedan. If you want a MT then you'd have to go with the I4 Accord which means 160HP instead of 200HP.

TSX is an Accord. It's a matter of which Accord u want.
THe one built for the US market, bigger, sloppier handling, great interior, bigger engine choice
or the Accord built for the Euro market, smaller, tighter handling, great interior, small, peppy engine. Add a badge of "acura" and you have the TSX.

I think Honda can get more HP and torque out of the K24 engine. S2000 has 240hp, but only 162ft-lbs of torque from a 2.2 liter engine. They could probably get 10% more hp and torque out of the K24 with a little fine tuning. (Remember, this is a HONDA engine, best engine builders in the world)
220hp and 183ft-lbs torque, no problem. Bet these numbers pop up in next generation of TSX!

I'm sorry. That title belongs to BMW.

The k24 makes a bunch of torque for its size, but its power is redline-limited. The only reason the S2000 has so much power w/ so little torque is because its redline is so high.

Maybe for six cyclinder engines, but without a doubt Honda makes the best 4-bangers!!

Agreed. For 4-cylinders, Honda can't be touched.

BMW also makes the best V-10 in the world (Lambo Gallardo is a very, very close second). Their V-8 has so much technology that it's ridiculous. And their V-12 is not too shabby. I still think BMW is the best overall engine manufacturer. Not just in 6-cylinders...

Thats what I was trying to ask:

But FDL gave me an engine lecture -JK

There are Honda 4 bangers with lots more HP(look at the S2000). Then the question is do you want to throw forced induction into the mix (see the 300 hp STI), But does that make it "better"? It all depends what you want.

The K24 in the TSX has lots of usable torque so it helps with the day-to-day driving of a heavy sedan like the TSX. For a 4 cyl its got alot of power down low in comparison to other 4 cycl engines on the market. But top end wise, there are much better engines.

Also, I am very surprised that the S2000 is only a 4 cyl.
