Where are the jacking points?

I was going to test my new hydraulic lift and I looked for the jacking points. I was expecting a flat surface about an inch in from the wheel like on my old Accord, but instead I see a bunch of places where the side skirts attach. About 3 inches in from the wheels there's these small "rails" about 3" long, they seem to be part of the frame and look like the most solid thing to lift... is that it? I really expected a flat surface not a thin rail.

There are two more jacking points - one in the front and one in the back.

These are not shown in the owner's manual, but are shown in the service manual.

The front jacking point has a big arrow pointing to it. The arrow is molded into the plastic cover. It is indeed a flat surface.

The rear jacking point is the rear tow hook. It's surrounded by the plastic rear diffuser and has 4 anchors to the car.

I don't have means to post a picture for a couple days... but I can try to answer any questions you still have.

Good luck!

TSX Jacking Point Pics

The day after Thanksgiving I decided to do some maintenance work on the TSX. Switched from dino to Mobil 1 Supersyn...it could be a placebo, but the engine does feel smoother and more willing to rev. Also did a tire rotation. So I snapped some pics for those of you that are unsure as to were to place the jack or jack stands.

You take out the fuckin manual and tell me how you're supposed to figure out from that tiny little diagram if those jack points are the rails or any of the flat areas right next to them.

Service Manual

Jihan, Do you have a service manual for TSX? If so, where'd you get it?

Thx. Tim

www.helminc.com is the only source I'm aware of. Acura dealerships may also be able to provide it.

About $75 shipped.

Had a vandal break a taillight this summer (and also scratched up the trunk/bumper area a bit...). I have a $500 insurance deductable, so I decided to replace the taillight and touch up the paint myself. Bought the taillight from http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/.../mws/about.htm (fast shipping and easy to order!) and then pulled off the bumper and replaced the light myself.

The manual paid for itself and then some
