i was wondering when the break-in procedure is done...
i have about 1200 miles on the odometer and planning on going on a 500 to and 500 mile back trip, for a total of 1000 miles.

should i be okay?

There isn't really set break-in period but the manual recommended around 1000 miles so you are good to go..

the owners manual says to take it easy for the first 650 miles basically. since you're almost at double that, i would assume it would be ok to take a trip

You'll be fine...I drove mine from Chicago to Vegas the day after I bought it new.

i dont see a reason why not to take a trip even if you have 2 miles on the car. im woundering how long should i give it till i can floor it. i was gonna wait about 500 miles??

You don't want to keep the revs at a consistent spot for too long during break in. Long trips usually equal constant speeds. During break in, at least in theory, various levels of rpm's is recommended. You may wind up with a jumpy spot in the rev range if you arn't careful.

Depends on who you ask and which break-in method you follow. Personally, I didn't hit redline until close to 600 miles.

i did my breakin until 6000 i think.. i'm being overly cautious though.. and I think you should change your oil every 3000 during that time.
