Unfortunate tale:

I was going home from work on a road that was under construction and was to be repaved - I hit one of those sewer lids sticking out of the ground about 3-4" and slice the side wall of the tire and severly dented the edge of the rim.
After several calls to the road construction complany, the saftey manager agreed to pay for the tire ($195) and the cost of the wheel repair ($150).
Anyhow, when I saw the repaired wheel, something did not look right. These are the A-spec wheels with that 'silver sparkle' finish. Apparently, the shop not only fixed the dent, but for some reason spray the entire wheel a dull silver color. I'll be going there after work today to sort out the mess; I cannot see any alternative other than them buying a new wheel to replace this one.

Maybe they didn't repair the wheel, but actually replaced it with a cheap knockoff?

sorry to hear... I would have asked for a replacement wheel instead of repair.

I had my alloy rims repaired before. The guy painted the section that was scratched and in a few months it started to peel. I just accepted it and now watch the hell where my alloy rims are at.
