Wait a few seconds or two, and you'll see the gas going back down the nozzle. Add more gas until the nozzle is full. Watch it go down again. Repeat until gas doesn't go down anymore. THEN and only then is your tank full.

How do you guys think I can actually drive way more than 600 miles with a single gas tank?

CJams, ALL of the premium went in the TSX's gas tank. Not in the trunk, in the tank. Why would I lie? I've never BS'ed on this board, and I'm not about to.

748 miles on day-to-day driving was my best, to be precise.

But if I were to drive a full tank in the same conditions as in my test in June, it would have been 820 miles.

I am a belielver! I have never filled the gas tank so much before. The gas was filled all the way up to the cap. I waited for it to go down a bit more so I could make it to 19 gallons, but it was completely maxed out!

My personal record! and I am going to get 500 miles out of this tank dammit!

I hit 420 miles this weekend and filled up with about 14.3 gallons.

That's almost 29.5 mpg...even with all my mods

Add me to the 500 mile mebership list!

This was also the worse week for traffic in a while. It took me 2 hours 20min to get home today. I am still gonna squeez a few more miles out of it before I fill up, but I was just so happy I wanted to share it with everyone.

While I'll say congratulations, something to think about... to protect the engine from the inevitable gas impurities that enter your tank (from the storage facilities or wherever), some automotive experts (and me -- who isn't an expert) believe that you should fill up when the tank is about 1/4 left. That way the garbage remains at the bottom of your gas tank and doesn't ever reach the engine. This becomes more important as the car ages.

Thank goodness Honda makes great engines that are pretty good handling garbage, but several mfgrs who have sensitive engines (like the VW 1.8T) promote this among their service staffs.

That being said -- good luck on your quest! (This is not sarcastic -- I got 490 out of a 1989 Civic that had a 12 gallon tank driving in the Southeast on I-95 behind a truck).

I've never put more than 15 gallons in it, even when I thought I was running on fumes.

Although there has never been a reported problem with the expansion tank being filled in the TSX; the V6 model of the Accord between 1998-1999 had an issue with an emission part needing replacement as a result of overfilling.
