What would you get rid of?
Ok, there are many wish lists of what extra features people want on their TSX. Most of these cost money and one of the appeals of the TSX is the value it represents at its price point of $26k US / $35k CDN.
What features can you live without to make room for the ones you want instead, to keep the price the same?
I'll start with:
1. Leather
2. Moonroof
3. Power seat (keep the heat and lumbar, but I could live w/o power).
4. Remote trunk release.
5. Switch the 6-cd changer for a single that plays mp3.
6. Magnesium case for the MT. (ok, as an AT owner I'm not really qualified to comment, but it would be cheaper).

i like all that you dislike, but i see your point. thing with honda and im sure you would agree, they give you plenty of bang for the buck, and try ridding the buyer of the hassle of ordering for options and all that stuff. again, i like the tsx, and only complain about very very little things (passanger seat, no 6 cyl. option, auto-open/close moonroof.)

Hmmm, I disagree with everything you've listed. I don't think I'm willing to depart with anything except the rattle in my passenger's seatbelt mount. Well, I could depart with the turning signals in the side mirrors, but I do like them. I'll trade those for memory seats.

You do raise a good point of Acura offering up a good "all-in" package. This in itself lowers the cost of the vehicle, since it lowers the invetory costs of dealers carrying a wide variety of packages and trading with other dealers to find the right car.

I'd give up-
1. Little picture of car with what doors are open.
2. Pockets in the seat backs.
3. VVTI 4 Banger with a 6 speed for a GM sourced V6 with pushrods and automatic only option.........NOT!!!!!!!!!!

I also agree that I would not want to give up anything at all - in fact, I would not mind paying a couple thousand more dollars to have a turbo engine, or even a V6!!!

same here. i really dont understand why acura didnt even have the v-6 option, or at least a bit more powerful i4 (turbo, or even supercharged, maybe..naah honda just gives u a sweet sounding powerful engine for the cylinders, n/a of course.)

I'd give up...
- The leather power seats in exchange for cloth/microfiber manually operated recaros with an option for 4-point harnesses.
- The K24a in exchange for an F22c1 and I wouldn't at all miss the 5 ft-lb sacrifice in peak torque
- The stock 17's for a lightweight forged set and decent summer rubber.
- The weak brakes for a good set of 4-piston brembos, stop-techs, or whatever, larger slotted or cross-drilled front rotors, and stainless steel lines.
This could be called a "track version" TSX and I'd easily fork over an extra $5-6K over MSRP for all these goodies. Now is that too much to ask?

Power seats is the only thing I'd want to give up from that list. And maybe the auto-dimming mirror. And the not-an-ashtray. While we're at it, the rear cup-holders. And the open-all-windows (not that that costs anything).

I'd swap the leather for cloth Recaros and a Momo wheel. As are factory options on the car at extra cost in the Fatherland. (Ooops!)
Also, I'd give up the gasoline engine for the turbodiesel.
Otherwise why not just buy the Honda Accord EX with the cloth seats and the 5-speed? The Accord ditches the 17" wheels, the VSA, the 6-speed, the strut tower brace and the HIDs. It keeps most of the other toys except for the seat heaters. About $19,500 in my zip code.
Plus the Accord seats are wide enough that you can eat at McDonalds until you look like Jabba the Hutt...

Dual heating and A/C. Nice, but hey, my wife can wear her coat.
There are some things like the tires and stero that I would give up so they could be upgraded, but as to features that I would totally give up for something else, there is precious little.
This car is so well designed and packaged. Some argue that they should have put a V6, but then there would not be enough of a difference between it and the TL. They would kill the TL market, especially given the handling of the TSX and the downsizing of the TL in 04.

I'd give up...
- Leather
- Power Seat
- MoonRoof
- Dual Zone & Climate Control
- VSA for plain old traction Control
- The "Not an Ashtray" sticker
- Xenons
- Blue light coming from up top
- Outside temp gauge (Not very useful IMO)
- CD Changer (prefer radio)
- 300 Watt Stereo
- Homelink (I'm capable of pinning up my remote)
- Heated Mirrors (Never Used)
- And lastly the Acura badge for a Honda badge.
I always wanted a good looking Accord that cost $30K CAD.
I would'nt give up...

- Rearview Dimming Mirror
- PW, PL, PM

Old fart
Actually, they did put a V6 in the TSX...they just called it a TL instead
I would've been happy with cloth seats instead (recaros would've been really nice), but would the heated seats be gone if the seats weren't leather/leatherette? Are there any cars currently in the US with heated cloth seats?

I'd be glad to sacrifice:
Moonroof
Heated seats
Power driver's seat (I rarely let anyone else drive my car)
Auto-dimming mirror (although I like it)
VSA
For just these two features:
Stickier summer tires
Decent antenna/reception for the radio

I seriously think that Honda/Acura took what people were saying they wished the TSX had and put it on the TL. I think the TSX might eventually have some of these things, but not without the price going up...although it's on the TL and it's only about 5k more...
