Just quoted 27.500 with navi

2006 for 27,500 with navigation + 189 documentation fee and taxes. does that seem rediculously low to anyone else? is it even possible that a dealer could be selling it at that price?

i plan on adding a few things like the wheel locks, door edge, maybe the body spoilers, so it will bring the price up, but 27,500 with navigation is only a litttle more than what they quoted me for the 2005 with navigation!

STL, That's including tax and registration and all the other crap I got to pay. I said it was OTD (Out of the Door) in my last post.

Over 30K for TSX? OMG you're being robbed!

Everyone is free to do what they want with their money, but I work too hard for mine just to hand it away without good cause. In December of 2004 I picked up my 04-CG-5AT-TSX for $23,500 out the door. That price included the taxes, tags, dealer fees, etc. The car is perfect. It was not "new" since someone drove it before me that same year, but it was an Acura certified pre-owned vehicle. I had no shame driving my "used" 2004 TSX in December 2004 or even now in 2005. To think of paying around $30,000 just to drive the same car a few months sooner...I'll wait thanks. Oh...and to pay over invoice on something that is going to sharply depreciate (ie. vehicle) is insane. (Unless you're Exxon who made 7 billion this quarter ) I know it's sometimes easy to get excited about certain things, especially the TSX, but I try as much as possible not to be a typical consumer whore. Maybe someone can pick up a "used" 06 TSX in the summer for low 20's...then spend the extra cash on mods. (Meanwhile...guy X spent over 30K on his 06 TSX and is upside down on his auto loan. No mods for him) Some people just NEEED to have that brand new car no person has ever touched or to drive a car before anyone else has it. If you're one of those people and that makes you happy...by all means do it. No hate my friends. Just something to think about as I know we all juggle our finances to get the best bang for the buck! (Especially if you're like me -American- with the dollar slumping) lol

The TSX price certainly have gone up since the last 2 years and it will keep on going up. Unfortunately, I live in a city with only one Acura dealership. The next closest dealership is 103 miles away. So there really isn't too much bargaining margin for people who wants to drive Acuras, especially when there are still 05 TSXs on the lot. Others who have pre-ordered their 06 TSXs in my area got MSRP + Tax and fees, but fortunately for me, I had some connections in the dealership where I actually got the car with Navi, wheel locks, and trunk cargo net for 28,650, but with the destination charge, state taxes, registration, and dealer fees, it came up above 30k. I think everyone works hard for their money, but even at this price, I think the TSX is still a good value for my money.

Good point, but your argument has a few flaws. Number 1, there's no way a used TSX will be going for low 20's in the later months of 2006, first of all, there won't be many used ones on the market, and secondly, check out the prices of a used 2005 with 5k-25k miles on them now: they arent even low 20s. Also, if you plan on buying a new car and keeping it for many years, it's not a bad deal to pay 30k for a car with 50k mile warranty, not to mention all the luxuries it comes with. If you ask me, 23,500 for a 2004 with no navi is pretty expensive, if it has more than 20,000 miles on it, because that's almost what it cost brand new!

NJ Acura 2006 TSX

OK,

So i havent officially purchased it yet, but i put down a deposit on the 2006 TSX Royal Blue with Navigation. The price: $27,500 + $189 documentation fee and approx $1700 in tax (6%). I'm not sure how or why i got this price, but i'm screaming happy.

Being that invoice is $27,257, I think your deal sounds too good to be true.

I don't know...I was offered invoice or a couple hundred over last Nov/Dec. for a new '05 by a few dealers. I think it's not a hard price to get. And maybe he has several dealers to compete against each other like I do. 4 locally, 3 two hours away and 4 four to five hours away if the deals right ($60/1 hour by plane). I know the '06 has extras versus the prior year, but so did the '05 versus the '04.

Does $27,256 include destination? I don't think bradykp even accounted for destination and registration....

27500 including fees

$27,500 (royal blue with navi) including the destination fee. plus $189 documentation fee. plus approx 1700 in tax. registration is approx $200. it's in righting, signed by both me and the dealer. there's about 20 dealers within driving distance of me. i called every one of them, and ended up at the one i almost bought my 2005 from for 27,200 (with navi).

i still might add the underbody kit, but i found a good honda & acura website with the acura parts for less than others. i'm a deal seeker. what can i say.

Wow, it's nice to see the dealer get rapped instead! Please let us all know if he really honors that deal. When did you sign it?

This is the thread that talks about dealer invoice of '06 navi:

Another jersey dealer, who i initially contacted to ask about price, just contacted me to see if i was still looking. he claims he can beat the other dealer's $27,500 offer. I don't believe him, but i'm going to see where he goes with this anyways. i'll keep everyone posted.

can you imagine him going below $27,500?

I'm sticking with the dealer that gave me $27,500 anyways, but it's nice to know that they will go lower for other shoppers.

Did you all see the guy who paid $38k? lots of sick options, but he got ripped off on the price of the car!

bradykp,

after you get you're deal, would you mind listing who you bought from and who was the other dealer that was willing to deal?

even tho it's far away from b-more, i'd still test the waters...

when do you take delivery?

ztec,

i'm getting it at springfield acura in springfield nj. i obviously want to seal the deal, but i've been dealing with two people:

Alex Paczos us the sales rep
and John Mollicone is the Internet Sales Manager

Park Ave Acura in Jersey claims they'll beat the price, but i'm thinking, how much can they beat it by? Since John and Alex have treated me so well, I don't want to be pitting dealers against each other. Springfield gave me a great price, and I took it. I'm a man of honor so i'm not gonna back out of that deal to save another $100 bucks. Especially since John is going to try to take care of me on accessories.

Anyhow, as for when i take delivery, when the car comes in, i pick it up. there's no date for that yet, except 1st or 2nd week of december. hopefully i'm pleasently surprised and it's 1st week!

awesome, thanks for the info.
and while i'm always interested in just how good a deal i can get, i agree that would be a kind of crappy move to jump to the other dealer for what's probably a couple hundred bucks at most....especially if those guys have been good to you.

hope you get it 1st week also

Ok... I am pissed now. I wonder if Plaza Automall in Brooklyn will do something about the price since I put the down payment (1K). Maybe I can milk some serious assesories but nothing beats the navy... Crap!

Thanks to bradyk, I just came back and signed up a 2006 w/navi for 29,950 OTD. Not exactly the same deal that Bradyk got, but I'm happy with it, especially since it is brand new..

Yep, includes 6% PA state tax. Thanks to bradykp. I actually ended up buying it at the same place, Springfield Acura in NJ. Called initially and said they wouldn't budge from 29.9 before tax, tag, etc. Waited a couple of days, another salesman Richard called me and said to come in and he'll make the trip worth my while. Got to negotiate price and finally settled on 29,950 after all fees and taxes. It's 300 more than what bradykp paid, but hell, ill take it, especially since no other dealer came close. The only thing that's a question mark is I'm either getting a white tsx w/ ebony, or a silver one w/ ebony. Those were my top 2 choices. I REALLY REALLY hope I end up with the white one, but most likely will end up with the silver. The dealer said they're going to have to locate this particular car because of the lack of 6MT w/ navi. Usually that adds a couple hundred bucks to the deal, but said he would still do it for 29,950. Delivery is estimated at the end of December.

I'm pretty happy with the deal, considering the 06's haven't even come out yet!

GREAT deal....if I can get that deal in Chicagoland area, I will be buying right away. Can you give us a breakdown of the cost? The amt you paid with destination, dealer fees, registration fees, and tax? Thanks! It seems like you got below invoice?

i still might add the underbody kit, but i found a good honda & acura website with the acura parts for less than others. i'm a deal seeker. what can i say.
Yup, just did it in Bridgewater for $28,000 including destination without breaking a sweat. So I could've probably gone lower, but I already committed to $28k.

Exactly $30k OTD (TTLD) for a '06 6 speed black/black Navi.

Picked up my 06 two days ago. Back in Aug. the dealer and I came to a price of $27,500, that included Protection Package (Rubber Mats, Wheel Locks, Truck Liner, Wheel Splash/Mud Guards) and delivery. I asked what the increase would be for an 06. We came up with $27,900, antisapating an MSRP increase of $400. I gave him a deposit of $1000 and waited for the 06. The increase was actualy $700, but he kept with the number we agreed on.

Considering the dealer invoice is $27, 257 (w/Nav, according to cars.com), plus including dealer delivery $615 (unknown true cost) and Procection Package $400+/- (again, unkown dealer true cost). I thought $27,900, wasn't too bad.

If you can get an 06 under $28k (w/nav and delivery), I would think that would be pretty good.

just asking...

I'd just like to ask that anyone who'd like to reference my deal wait until i pick the car up, especially if you're going to the same dealership as I am. It is not final until i pick it up, and i don't want them to back out for any reason.

Also,

I'm wondering if anyone has gotten quotes on the underbody kit installed? I wanna get the best price I can on it, but i'm not sure what to ask for. The parts total to $1,160 (front spoiler, rear under spoiler, side skirts). So what would labor be? And i'd like to get him to knock a few dollars off the parts.

Any suggestions?

no problem, i was originally thinking you'd only name the dealer after you had car in hand, just in case....

my negotiations begin once the cars are on the lots on the east coast...probably mid december...

I found one internet site selling the bodykit for $911 with free shipping. Get a quote from your dealer that separates the cost of the kit from labor. Then get him to beat the $911 for the kit.

The site appears to still have 05 kit but I'm sure these auto parts sites will be getting in the new stuff as it arrives in the US.
