sorry i am a newbie here and i am probably getting a tsx.

so the question is what octane gas are you using

85, 87, 88, 89, 91, or 93 octane fuel??

and what is the recommended octane rating for the car?

also is there any common problems i should know about before purchasing?(i am looking at a low mileage used 04/05 auto)

Read the manual and search. You'll find all the answers that you seek have already been discussed.

 

Since you don't have the TSX just yet, It is recommended that the TSX be fed with 91 octane. 87 will not harm the car if served once in a while, but you will make no economy out of it.

As for common problems, check out the "Problems and Fixes" forum. You will see what are the common issues.

And of course, many of these topics, like octane rating are being beaten to death, so you will always be better off to run a search before posting.
