What Front Strut Bar to get??
So i want to get a front strut bar for my 06 and i dont know which one to get. I was planning on getting the cusco but ive heard bad things plus the ac line interference. I dont want the comptech one and i dont want a plain black one. something that stands out! any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also i was looking at the J's racing one but it says thats for 04, 05. would there be a fitment issue??

I don't want to be an ass, but between this thread and your ETD thread, you could probably achieve the same results by using the Search function. Strut bars are definitely a topic that's been done to death on these forums.
For what it's worth I've been running the Cusco for the last year and I like it. It does come in to contact with the AC lines, but a strip of foam tape or some plumbing insulator will do the trick to take care of that without much effort or expense.

i think the neuspeed is the cheapest one. a lot of ppl have the cusco. spoon also makes one but it's pricier.
i think there is a feel's one too. doesn't bigben have that on his ride?

well...
looks as though you don't care about performance.
if you did, you would buy the Neuspeed.
yeah, it's black, but it's solid and one piece. It's far superior to these
3-piece ones like Cusco and such.
so do you want looks only? or are you going for actual performance, you know
what it would be used for....?
If you just want a shiny piece of metal in there, but the Cusco and bend your
AC lines for it to fit. Or buy the knock-off one off of ebaY, but the Cusco is cheap.
You could go J's Racing, but that ones hard to see.
You could easily buy the Neuspeed and have it powdercoated for about $40 or so.
Then it would be any color you want, plus it would perform very well.
IMO the Neuspeed + Stock together is better than just the Comptech.
Comptech is a Replacement for the stock strut bar.
All other's are in addition to the stock strut bar.
I'm going to get a Neuspeed one because it has the best rigidity and performance.
Which is the whole point of getting it for me.

i originally preferred the comptech strut bar, since it also bolts onto the firewall (i think)...but seeing how they are outrageously priced, and no longer made, i would go with neuspeed.

competch is expensive, but you get what you pay for: titanium for some engine bay bling, it's quite light, and serves a purpose. however, to be fair, it's difficult to notice any tru "gain" from my strut bar unless i'm doing figure 8s

well, not true for some.
there are people here that have had both the Neuspeed and the Cusco on their car.
They say the Neuspeed has noticable performance gains and altered feel.
They say the Cusco does not.
And switching between the two you can definitely notice a difference.
These opinions I've read have helped me make my decision.

yes, it will fit the 06.
polished, ... nope.
only comes in black. you could have it chromed or powder coated though.
just google neuspeed tsx front tie bar, you'll find lots of places to order it.

Is waiting in
All performance mods, with the exception of Hondata/Supercharger are interchangeable throughout 04-08. There are differences in AT/MT, you can't install a short shifter on your 5 Speed.

the 04/05 will fit, as said above.
it's all part of a package as far as I'm concerned.
the underbody brace. (cusco for me)
the strut tie bar. (neuspeed for me)
the trunk brace. (carbing for me)
the sill braces. (carbing for me)
the fender braces. (j's racing for me)
they all work together to achieve a common goal.
chassis rigidity.
the strut tie bar is probably the least noticable of them all.
there's one there, it just needs improving on and some help per se.
the other braces put support where there is none, so they're more noticable.
I hope to have all my bracing in by the end of the year.
then I'll test my car against a 3 series and see which one handles better....

I got neuspeed strut bar installed about 3 weeks ago. Im not going to say "wow what a difference!!', but you could definitely feel the car being more rigid in a turn.
But if you have high performance tires, you could take a corner fast and probably feel more of a difference with the neuspeed.
oh ya and you could get it in polished. The one i have on my car right now is polished.
And by the way, my car is an 06 as well and the strut bar fit. when it was on the ground it didnt but i took it to a shop and he said they had to life the front end of my car because of the body flex. So the neuspeed does fit the 06, you just have to lift it to put it on.
Here is the link to where i bought my polished neuspeed strut bar installed...

$170 is kinda steep for that neuspeed polished. i know the black version is cheaper, but i think you can find the polished version for a better price online.
do any of our vendors sell them? i remember seeing it on heeltoe's page, but it wasn't there when i looked yesterday.
i'm kind of itching for a new mod. this might be something i should do next since it's relatively small.

I've had the polished Neuspeed one for a couple of years now. I think it helps to tighten up the steering a little bit. The Comptech RSB definitely made a bigger difference in handling.
