What is everyones' age?
I know its more off-topic, but I want to get a feel for what the average age of a TSX owner is. I know Acura markets it to the 25-40 crowd but it'd be interesting to see who out there actually visits Acurazine.

I'm assuming that those under 21 are still in school and therefore don't have their first real job yet, that is, a job that pays enough to warrent a $30k car
Lol, I don't know how I could have paid for this before a year ago... and I worked

Of course, what you're determining here is the average age of a TSX owner who reads acurazine and is willing to admit his/her age, which will very likely skew the results towards younger ages.
Anyway, my wife is the TSX driver in the family. She's 43 - old enough to be the mother of about a third of the posters here - but very cool

I'm thinking 25-29 will keep the lead, as this is the target market for the TSX crossed with the age of people who care enough/are confident enough/mod enough to post on a forum. Boy can I generalize - with a lack of precision.

If you're over thirty, you're over five times more likely to own a TSX if your age ends in 0-4 than if it ends in 5-9. Among all owners, 0-4s outnumber 5-9s by 3:2.
I think Acura's market research dept. needs to look into this.

So far I believe I'm the member with the earliest sign up date. Do I win a prize (TSX?) or get kicked off the forum to make space for new members?
I think I also won for being the oldest member age wise, 65 I think, heck, I'm not even sure if I have an Acura.

The TSX is a smart car. You can even let your guide dog drive, as long as one of you can remember where you want to go.

Below is part of a press release on the hondanews web site, 9/1/05. I'm surprised that the median age is 43. Although, I'm 42 and plan to buy a TSX soon ... but it's not the type of car ideal for carting around a bunch of kids to hockey practice, etc.
"Target Buyer
Young. Hip. Technically astute. Raised on Japanese cars. Aspiring to own upscale brands. They are all of this and much more, but these terms perfectly define the buyers that are attracted to the distinctive styling of the TSX, its advanced engineering and its sporting handling. Today's leading automotive designs are sporty and aggressive, and TSX buyers will recognize these cues in this sporty Acura sedan.
Acura TSX owner demographics:
50 percent male
Median age 43 years
60 percent married
78 percent college educated
$86,000 median household income
These young and affluent buyers have an emotional attachment to their cars, but require a rational base to support their purchases. The TSX supports both needs with its outstanding handling, strong engine performance, distinctive overall design character, and the world-class quality inherent in all Acura products."

I don't fit the actual demographic at all. Although I make enough money to afford the TSX pretty easily, I'm 20 years old, I make about half of that $86,000, I'm not married, have no kids, I am college educated (several times), and I'm certainly not affluent.
Yes, there are some 20 year olds who can afford a TSX without any help from mommy and daddy.

I don't mean to brag about my education or the amount of money I make, but it irritates me when people infer that all 20 year olds that drive Acuras are spoiled because their parents bought it for them. Every penny that is going toward the purchase of my Acura has been earned by me.

If you say that I know some part of this is going to be a lie...
But if you are saying your parents bought you the car because you do all the rest of this amazing stuff I guess I can understand that. I mean, I would feel you are pretty justified, if all that's true you must have worked pretty hard, at least as hard as I do at work (probably much harder, as I type this at work). I would reward my kid in the same way.
But before you go around making statements defending 20 year olds everywhere remember that if all that is true you are a MASSIVE minority. I'm not saying 20 year olds with TSX's are spoiled, I feel that is more attitude related then anything, but they were most likely given a very expensive car and that can create the spoiled little brat attitude (eg TSX on 19's or whatever his name was)
