With all due respect, without buying every wire harness that's required for a Navi car, you're fighting an uphill battle. Fabricating harnesses yourself will be next to impossible.
All symbols used in the ETM are described at the front of the manual.
My suggestion would be to quit now while you're ahead.

What that means is that there is a shield around the conductors, and if you follow it it's probably only grounded at one end. The audio lines out to the OR amp are done this way, and they are only grounded at the amp end.
Personally, I ahve crappy experience with shielding in ars, and I believe failry strongly that whether those are audi o lines or data lines, using twisted-pair cabling will solve any noise-pickup problems you might have.
Shielding with a drain ground wire at only one end is a noise rejection trick, and twisted pair is a better noise-rejection trick.
Can't read your drawing - is it audio or data?

honestly, i think it wouldnt be THAT bad making up ure own harness, yes time consuming but im sure if u connect all the right wires u should be set, but yes in a perfect world i would most definately go for the prefabbed harness, youd be an idiot not to want it

All I have to say is I just got a high B (top 15% of the class) in Georgia Tech physics II (electricity and magnatism) and i have no idea what any of that means. That class was useless and a big pain at 9 AM. I'm just saying I might be able to help in about 2 years when i start doing stuff i'll actually need... and venting because i still have one final left.

So, only connect one end to ground OR to the "SH" signal out the amp.
