What does that code mean?
At the bottom left hand corner of my main radio display (non-nav), there is a 4 character code. I can't quite remember what it is right now...70DE or something like that (just a guess). Does everyone have this code? are they all the same? and what do they mean?
well... i'm guessing here, but the radio has a lock if it loses power and then you need to enter in the code... but if the code is right there to see... then that's probably not the code. unless you are suppose to remove the sticker (if it's a sticker?).

When I get out to my car again I will make note of the exatc code and post it here and we'll see if all our codes are the same

My guess is that its just a part code. The nav system has one as well. (some similar 707D type of number)

(I agree the code is probably a part number, just curious though ... maybe we will see some variation in numbers between older and newer build dates).

Check the post again. moda_way said he removed his. Sounds like a sticker or something. I haven't looked for it yet.

Checked my car last night. Yup, there it is - a 4 character code in the lower left hand corner of my non-navi display window. Not actually in the display window, it's actually in the black surround area. White characters, and no, it's not a sticker.
Checked all areas of my glovebox today and couldn't find the radio code. Any specific area?
Yes, that number is there, but it doesn't match up with the security codes that the dealer gave me.

Guys (and girls),
I'm REALLY REALLY surprised that you couldn't figure this one out (with the exception of Alin). It's just a *model number* for the radio/nav unit.
And I thought *I* was an overanalytical person - talk about reading into things!
For those that had their radio code in their glovebox - I didn't have that at all, but I *did* have a sticker on the plastic card that has my radio and nav code - so I think that sticker was supposed to be peeled off and put on your card during the PDI.

Also, I think a few of us here mentioned it was a part/model number early on in the thread.
