Went to Pick up today but was Damage!! What should I do?

Hey Guys, I went for delivery today, and the car has sometime of scratch, but it looks more like the pain melted in a circular pattern, maybe the adhesive from the packing, and the drivers side seat has a small scracth on it. The dealership said they would take care of it and add the spoiler for free if I took it, what do you guys think? Opinions please, need to make this decision soon.

Do you want a spoiler? Was the paint melted area where the spoiler would go?

They should offer you a "We Owe You" form promising to fix the things that you mentioned. Do not accept delivery without either that or them actually fixing the problems. Your car should arrive in perfect condition.

I'd get like $700 certificate so you can use it at dealeership. if you think the damage will still look bad after fixing, dont take it otherwise take it!

The paint may be able to be polished out - ask the dealer how they will fix it. A repaint would be out of the question. If you have a friend who details cars, bring him along to look at the damage.

As for the seat, not sure how the scratch will be fixed up, but I see no reason that if it is why you can't take it (unless they damage something else.

If you don't want a spoiler, I'd ask for free oil changes or some other accessory that you might have wanted.

Good luck!

Tsx

Since they are going to have to repair it anyway. Why not let them repair it and then you can see what kind of a job they did before you officially accept it.

Hey Guys to clarify, i didn't take delivery, there going to fix it and let me enspect it first, then once I give the go ahead, there going to put the spoiler on, to be honest i'm not sure if i want to spoiler, but it was the most expensive thing other than the ground effects kit. Is there another accessory you guys suggest? There supppose to repaint it. put the protectant on it etc.

What color is the car? I'd be careful if it was PWP or NBP, as they tend to be difficult to match. (The NBP has blue flakes in it that show up when you look at it in the sun.) I wouldn't be too worried about it since the dealer's doing it, but just be careful.

As for the accessories, I'd go for the all-season floor mats and trunk tray instead of the spoiler, plus first two or three scheduled services free.

Hey Guys just talked to the manager, So specifically, it's a paint burn, which there going to sand out and blow out. The color is NBP, so I am going to look for the blue specs, I was aware of that but thanks. I already have

wheel locks, trunk tray, all season mats, car cover, luggage net.... which is why i was thinking spoiler cause the fog lamps I can install myself and buy for $280.

About what there going to do for blowing it out, is that the method they should be doing?

Demand another car and get a loaner in the mean time.

Or,

How about the wood trim steering wheel?

or,

MP3 player.

Perhaps, both.

I have a loaner, gonna see how well they fix it, if I can't see a difference, then I'll take it.

I dealt with the same thing. there was a scratch on one of my doors when I went to pick up my NBP. They attempted to polish it out, but the area fogged up. Anyway, they tinted my windows for free, came down a little on their price, and repainted the area (with the painter the dealer used). I also got a loaner while they painted everything. They matched it really well - you can't tell where the scratch used to be. They litterally had to repaint the entire door though, bc i didnt just want touch-up paint.

how much of a discont did you get? I'm thinking of that too, but getting the free spoiler with installation is a good $600+ i'm i have a loaner even though I havn't paid for the car yet, so they are taking care of me. I'm worried about the color not matching exactly, good to hear they were able to match it with you NHBP, hope they can with mind too, tough I'm not sure if there painting mine, there blowing it out and might just need to sand it. Any advice for what to look for from you guys when I go to inspect the quality of the repair?

You should not be able to tell the car has been repaired. Basically, you should look at it and not be able to know exactly where the "problem" spot was. I had been negotiating with them to begin with, but I got another $200 off (plus the tint) for the problem.

I noticed a similar imperfection on my car. After about a month of owning the car, I went to wax it for the first time, and I noticed a small patch in front of the passenger side door where there were blotches in the clear coat. It was pretty obvious that it had been like that the whole time. Unfortunately, it had been so long since delivery (nearly a month) that I decided it wouldn't be fair to complain to the dealer. I wish I had noticed it earlier, but what can you do?

I hope they are able to straighten everything out with your car, and make it up to you at the same time. It will be worth the wait
