Went to Mid-Ohio
Attended the Acura High Performance Driving Course at Mid-Ohio yesterday! What a heck of a good time that was (and all on the dime from a vendor from work )
They started with an early chalk talk and then an early lap on the auto-x course (best time by yours truly out of 26 people!).
We then broke into groups to do auto-x (several minutes, lap after lap can wear you out), slalom, braking excercise and a civic skid car excercise (think sliding on ice). They even let us each do a few laps on the auto-x in a Hinda S2000, which was a complete blast.
The end of the day was a follow the leader (instructor) around the actual track for close to an hour. Topping that all off was a two against two, two lap sprint (instructors driving, student passenger). Totally crazy how those guys can drive. My driver was passed by the other instructor on the lane out of the pits. He got behind him and, with my encouragement, was bumping him down the straight at about 95 mph and then passed him on the bottom turn. We had a good laugh on that...
All in all, a great day.
It was unreal to see that many TXS's, especially on the track. They were fitted with the A-spec packages, roll bar, 5pt harness (differant seats might have been better) and rear sway (what brand, I'm not sure).
Also, a few were outfitted with exhausts by Corsa and sounded really nice. I called Corsa today and learned that they aren't offering them yet for sale and are using the Mid-Ohio cars for testing/development. The guy promised to call back when they will be for sale.
If anyone has a chance to participate in the course, I'd recommend it. I can now take the second tier course which is mostly all track time (follow the leader and then lapping).

nice. i don't see much honda courses in NY. the bmw cca courses are great too, those instructors will make you look like a rookie on the tracks. it's the best $400 you'll ever spend!

Sounds like fun. I live an hour south of Mid-Ohio in Columbus. I have been thinking about taking a course. I have been up there a few times, the last being the last Champ Car race that was up there.
