This is a weird question

Hey what's going on? I currently have a 2007 Acura TSX that i've had for about 6 days now...I'm unhappy with the size of it because i'm 6 feet talla nd weigh 235..i feel like im too big for the car.... My question: has anyone heard of a dealership doing a swap witht eh car maybe if i wanted the TL because it's bigger?

I don't think they will swap your TSX for the TL without you paying extra $. The TL cost $4 or 5k more than the TSX and the Type S is almost $10k more. It doesn't matter if your car is 6 days old once you drive it out of the lot you already lose some $ because the car value already depreciate. Expect the dealer to offer you less than what you paid new if you are planning to swap to a TL.

i didn't purchase the car, i should have stated that before, it's a leased car. I was looking to pay what they are asking for the tl which is 370-month from what i am paying now for the tsx 355-month

hmm you might be able to swap, but i think you'll still have to pay for the taxes and registration for a new vehicle. You should contact your dealer and ask.

It was more of my parents pushing for the TSX. I ultimatley wanted the TL, no offense to TSX drivers..it's just too small.....Suprisingly the one i test drove was fine

OK, that's such a cop out man. I'm 6-6" 210, and I got no problems, whatsoever. I even lowered my car. The TSX driver's seat goes back plenty far and low for me to have no head clearance or size issues. I was impressed with that (for a small car) when I did my test drives. I have also driven the TL, and I'm not sure it affords much, if any, more room to the driver. The back seat is where you will get the extra room the TL offers.

If you want a TL, expect a bloodbath. Dealers love people like you that can't make up their mind. It is better that you have leased instead of purchasing in this case. I would expect they will allow the swap as long as you're willing to pay some lease termination penalty they will dream up. Expect to have to eat $2-3k of depreciation on the car.

And why couldnt you tell this in the test drive? And we have plenty of guys bigger then you that seem perfectly comfortable.

Sure you could take the car back, buy you're going to take a big hit. Kiss that upfront least payment good bye...

The seats do take some time to adjust to find your "sweet spot." If the one you test drove was fine, then try adjusting your seats more to find a spot where you are comfortable. It took me a few months of trial and error to find a good spot for me.

Make sure you've used all the seat adjustments. 6ft. isn't THAT tall. The seat not only goes forward and back but also up and down.

I can just see the guy with the seat adjusted all the way up and ducking his head down to see out the windshield.

Seat adjustment is your friend.

BTW - Six feet tall and 200+ lbs. is the new normal. You can easily fit in this car.

I'm 6'2 / 220 and fit fine. In fact, my seat isn't even all the way back. Try adjusting the seat lower, further back, and work on the recline angle.

That is unless you are feeling Buyers Remorse (which in my opinion, you are). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buyer%27s_remorse

I am 6'1 and 205 lbs. I move the seat all the way back and I pull the steering wheel out more. Fits me fine but for whoever sits behind me is going to feel uncomfortable.

im 6' and 210lbs and cannot drive with the seat all the way back, there is no way that the car is too small, this is a mid size sedan, not a compact.
good luck with that lease though, since everyone else already said you would get raped for trying to swap out a lease i wont even say anything about why leasing a vehicle is such a horrible idea

i think i am feeling buyers remorse to be honest...i went into the dealership really wanting the TL.

My sig says that because thats what my car has...the 2nd day of me having it i tinted the windows because i can't drive a car without tints....

I'm just having mixed feelings, but i decided to stick with it because my mom's lexus is up and she really likes the MDX or RDX so she said if i wanted to we could switch, so i have other options..

Thanx for the feedback...

Sounds like its your parents car. Its their decision, not yours. Talk to them, not us. If they can afford to just give you a TSX in the first place, I promise you, they will be more forgiving of this ludicrous situation than a bunch of zealous TSX loving owners like us.

You couldn't pay me to swap my TSX for a TL personally. (unless it was a type-s... then maaaaybe.)

Hate to say it, but this sounds like the case of the spoiled brat not getting what he wanted.

I went into the dealership wanting the Tl once again no offense to TSX owners...so it's not "the spoiled brat" wanting something different, they got it for me because they thought that the TL was the RL price and the TSX was the TL price..i dont know how they messed that one up.

You are not supposed to wash them in the first few days. The TSX is known to shrink so you must have washed the car.

Swap with your Mom and stop whining about your NEW $30,000 car...

At your age, you'll probably be graduating college in a year or so...you can then buy the car you prefer. Otherwise, if your parents are buying it, then it's their choice.

TSX is better than the TL anyway. I looked into Acura because of the TL, but went for the TSX...I just couldn't "settle for the TL"

yeah, i agree with everyone- im 6'4" 270 lbs, the car has plenty of room for me. I came from an 95 civic, if i can drive that car comfortably then no one shorter than me should have a prob. with the tsx.

Yeah, I didn't buy the whole "I don't fit into my car" thing. I am 6'5" and every bit of 240lbs and I have a pretty fair amount of room considering the car does have a moonroof.

On the car swap thing, if your mom will take a TSX, I will give her mine and she can give me an MDX. Pretty fair trade, I mean my TSX has the A-Spec body kit. That in itself adds about $10,000 to the value.
